Hello everyone! Trying out Subeta for the first time, so far so good :) I've been playing neopets for years but I get a little tired of it as it can be hard to make any progress there. I've checked out some of the daily to-do's lists and things so I think I'm slowly getting the hang of this game.

I'm a little confused about the masquarade event, but otherwise it's all coming along rather well. Any tips for a noob?

Welcome to Subeta! The masquerade is just a steamworks themed site event where you get to earn trinkets to spend (kinda like earning freebies)?

I suppose what confuses me is the dancing (real life problem too, lol). Do I click random dance-buttons on the forum threads or is there an etiquette/rules I need to follow? Various threads explain this differently, and often seems to involve messaging people directly after certain amount of dance-requests. It feels a little overwhelming at this stage trying to understand it, but I'm sure I'm just being a noob.

The easiest thing to do is go to the Masquerade forum and go to a version of dance with the user above. Go with the latest version as it will load faster. Type claim or dance or something of that nature (the easiest is to just say claim) and hit the dance button of whoever is the comment above you. They receive a dance request from you to which they can say yes or no. If they say yes you'll get trinkets that you can spend in either the lounge( https://subeta.net/ss.php/lounge#/shop/2016 ) or the menagerie ( https://subeta.net/ss.php/menagerie#/shop/2016 ) Whenever you go to dance with the person above you make sure the page has fully loaded before you do. Another thing you can do is find a partner to dance with and keep dancing with them throughout the event. there are other things like competitions but those are the two of the easiest things to do. There's a lot more details on the event and I'd be happy to give other details if you want them. I don't know everything (like old plots and whatnot) but I know enough to help out I hope. Sorry if I told you things you already knew I'm just trying to be helpful. I know it took me forever to figure out the site but I had a friend who had been on a few months longer than me and could guide me around :3.

honestly I just dance with whomever I fancy at the time, some people like to have their dances 'returned' but there really is no obligation besides niceness, I can't keep track of everything so I just do what I can. I think everything acphelps2729 said covers the main points already :)
