Hi!

So, to start I am super green on profile making and pet profile making and all that jazz. I've tried looking at coding before but I get mixed up and I have no idea what I'm doing. I do have experience with web design but I'm used to having access to both the CSS and the HTML. Only having access to the CSS and then figuring out how to properly code it to enter it into a profile area or a pet page throws me for a loop. (Has anyone else experienced this?[sub]And if so, how do you deal with it?[/sub] I feel like a lot of people are going from the opposite direction of less coding experience rather than more and then heading into more, though I could be wrong.)

Rather than make my own page for now, I'd like to maybe commission a profile page. I have no idea what an appropriate price would be for something like this. I would like the profile though to highlight my pets, and my AV, and to utilize the larger version of my forum image.

I was hoping for any guidance into the process anyone would be willing to provide me. Either in terms of coding help, general profile pricing ranges, ect.

I would eventually like to get into coding my pet's pages.

Hey! I think that a lot of people on here (including myself) indeed learned how to code because they started experimenting with profile coding on subeta or similar sites. I think most people just grab a premade code and start trying to change things to see what happens. I can understand how trying to build some code from the ground up on subeta for the first time can be confusing, even with experience in web design :P

In general for questions about coding you would go to this forum. Here is a list with useful guides and such to get you started.

Since right now you're looking to commision someone you're in the right place though :) I could give it a go, but I must admit that I haven't done anything graphic wise in like 3 years? lol :P Here are my old examples if you're interested.

We could also do a collab kind of thing where you make the graphics and I will provide you with coding (and an explanation how it works so you can code it yourself in the future?). Or you could also look through the several profile shops people have set up on this forum. Most people have listed examples of their work and prices, so it will give you a general idea of what to expect when commissioning someone :)

You mentioned pet profile, which is something I can actually help with. Can't help you with the user stuff though. I'd stick with Assiejj for that.

I don't remember where I might find the topic, but Chen made a customizeable premade pet profile code for the public to use. I used to do my own code, but I only really started winning spotlights after I picked up theirs. It's a really nice one. Only Prototype013 doesn't have it.

That sounds really good, I know I can set it up to look the way I want in PS and everything graphic wise I'm just unsure how to go about coding. I'm not used to having to put in an area and reload a page. I'm generally used to working in dreamweaver and making the html and css side by side and then testing the whole thing in a web browser with a moderately accurate preview right in the program. I'm not used to not being able to see right away how shifting 3 pixels of a div affects everything lol. Your profiles are really beautiful by the way, I like how a lot of them are set up and look as a cohesive whole. I'd really like that setup I think if you don't mind for a collab of sorts. How much would that cost? It might be something I need to save up for and can't do right away. And thank you so much for all the helpful info already TvT

That might actually be really nice? It looks like a really nice versatile one I can work with just to kinda get my feet wet and figure out what's going on. Artemis' profile is really nice and so is the other one, though Art's is my favorite visually. And thank you so much for the help, you're awesome!

Ah I see. I always use the "inspect element" thing in firefox when coding subeta profiles. You have this tab called "style editor" where you can view and edit all the css on the page and it will update the page instantly without you having to reload it. I think you have something similar in chrome and there are also tons of add ons that you can download to achieve this. That will make it all a bit easier for you I think :P

But the collab thing sounds good! So I guess you'll start working on the graphics first then and notify me when they are ready? In the meantime I can start working on the base code for the profile and explanation thingy. Maybe I can make an image of the html structure of a user profile. (Something similar to this image which I find very useful) Do you think that would be helpful to you?

Also how indept would you like me to go? Would you just like to be able to build up the profile from images and position everything correctly and such. Or would you also like to know how, for example, a hover comment box works, or a profile with tabs?

I'm not sure how much I should ask for this.. :P I made a pet profile code for someone last week for 100 CSC, but that involved less explaining / time than this will I think, so how about 200 CSC?
