We will be working on proper plant and seed care, healing plants, potion ingredients, and how to better the greenhouse environment." Gaia smiled at the group starting to gather around. "It is important to go over some of the rules for our Greenhouse. We were lucky in being able to have this Greenhouse for our club and able to grow what we would like, but please keep in mind that Greenhouse 4 and 5 are off limits to students without a professor. Anyone breaking this rule will find themselves in real danger if not prepared to handle dangerous flora."

Gaia put her safety goggles on "Please make sure you bring your safety goggles, gardening gloves, and your personal tools. The last are not mandatory, but I know some of you might feel more comfortable with your own. If for any reason any of you don't have safety gear or tools we will provide you with some options from the school." Taking her goggles off she added "Next week we will start planting some seeds and learning about care for plants and the greenhouse. For now we can begin doing some light cleaning and putting things outside this way it will be easier to make the space functional for us." Gaia beamed and left the greenhouse to get the order of items for the club.

As you read the notice you notice a piece of parchment to your right and it reads Members List: Feel free to sign up for the club, include plants and things you would be interested in doing within the club.Everyone is welcome to join.

(OOC:VERY IMPORTANT Since we do not have a group for pings please either subscribe to the club thread or check the board daily. We are an RP club, but also I tend to do trivia challenges. If you would like me to ping you personally on posts I make about the club let me know (these would be trivia, change of plant discussion or new techniques and tools, etc. I will not just ping every time I post ^^). Harper Elliot was bubbling with excitement when she saw the notice on the notice board. She quickly signed her name on the blank sheet. However, she stood there staring at the sheet for a moment. What DID she wish they would cover?

She scribbled down a quick note: water plants and exotic plants.

Harper hated being so vague, but there was just too much she would love to see and learn about.

Aria rushed into the classroom holding all her books and papers. She looked around the room to see if she is late,as papers flew out from her hastily thrown together pile of belongings. Seeing that class had not quite started yet she gave a sigh of relief and quickly settled into the seat in the front row on the far right, near a window. Dax loved windows and she chose window seats automatically, even when he was not with her.

Aria noticed a student roster on the table and went up to pen her name and list the plants she wanted to learn about.
Name:"Aria Quinn" she whispered while writing. She thought for a moment of her favorite plants and decided to write down a plant family that she knew very little about. Plants you want to learn about:"Plants with magical properties that make them seem more sentient than other plants."

After taking her seat again she noticed that Dax was standing in the doorway. Aria looked up to the professor() and after catching her attention asked, "Is it permissible for my snowy owl mini-griffin to accompany me to class? He is really well behaved. If it is not allowed I can send him back to my room, he is just used to constantly being with me." Aria smiled politely and waited for her professors response.

((OOC: SORRY! Yes, it is a Roleplaying Club! I have updated the first post to include this! I have been working on a few things today but wanted to get the member list going for the club. I know a few members have been waiting for this club! Just post your Character name and what plants you would like to see in the club!))

Magnus arrived with his trusty rucksack. In it where his dragon hide gloves, a spade and several other things for gardening. On the sheet he wrote : Magnus Lee-- Mandrake, Cobra Lily, Whomping Willow-- dangerous plants. Was it because he was male or maybe werewolf that he was fasinated by the idea of dangerous plants. Maybe it was simply because no one really thought of plants being able to hurt people? Either way he wrote his list down and wandered over to Gaia. "Congrats on the club Gaia!" he said, "dead thrilled ta be 'ere." He really loved Herbology.

Aderyn entered the greenhouse and glanced around, smiling and waving to a few friends. She was really wickedly excited for this term - this was her first time ever in the Herbology club and she just knew she was going to love it! Walking over to where a piece of parchment was being passed around, she took it and scribbled her information down.

Aderyn Jones - Ravenclaw Interested in medicinal plants.

Handing the parchment to the next student, she slipped on her protective gloves, excited for whatever they were to be doing.

I'd love to join! My plant favourite is medicinal with plants used in spells as a second choice. I'm Cinda Rose from Gryffindor.

[img align=left]https://i.imgur.com/hRxkqZt.png[/img] Gaia walked in with seed bags and hovering next to her some big pots. "I was thinking maybe we can grow some small trees for these posts. We can put them outside around the greenhouse and create some creatures homes. Maybe plant something fairy friendly or for our pets to spend some time around or under. What do you all think?" Gaia set up the pots next to the front tables and spread the seed bags on the table.

She'd already been playing in the dirt a bit. She closed her eyes for a moment to smell the rich earth mixed with soft floral notes and hear the trickling sound of running water somewhere. She smiled. She missed this! Suddenly invigorated by the nostalgic environment, Sauvage skipped over to where she saw students writing down their information. She waited her turn and when it came time she wrote down her name and that she was most interested in learning about plants with multiple uses, particularly for potion making.

Magnus eagerly grabbed some pots and seeds and went to his station. He really did love plants. He waved to Aderyn and Aria. "'Llo ladies!"

Aria was happy to see Magnus() in class with her, "Hi! I'm so happy to see a familiar face." she said in an excited whisper. She grabbed her pot and seeds and rushed to get the station nearest Magnus. "I love growing plants, though I have never grown anything magical before!" Aria made small talk with Magnus while putting soil in her pot and prepping the seeds for burial.

"Me neither till last term. Best I ever grew was carrots an' other vegs when I lived at the orphanage. I grew the biggest sprouts o' everyone, which was kind o' ashame since I 'ate the nasty things." He laughed as he got everything lined up perfectly.

Aria giggled at Magnus() and his disdain for his vegetables. "That is funny! Do you like any of the vegetables that you were able to grow?" Aria asked while plopping one of her seeds into the soil and covering it up. Aria used the back of her soil covered hand to move loose strands of hair from her eyes. She looked back up at Magnus, "Want to hear a cute story?" she asked the rhetorical question and then paused for a moment. "Well, er, you might not think it's that funny, seeing as how much you are uncomfortable around Dax." Aria looked over at Dax and shrugged. "I'll tell it anyways!" she decided aloud before jumping into the story.

"I used grow strawberries in one of my garden areas. I took really great care of my patch of strawberries but never could seem to get any mature fruit from it. I thought that perhaps I had a pest problem. So I searched every plant for bugs or disease, but found none. It turned out that Dax was my pest problem," Aria said with a giggle. "He had been sneaking into the garden and eating all the strawberries before I could even get to them. I only found out because I happened to wander out into the garden and catch him in the act!" Aria finished her story by folding her arms across her chest and staring at Dax in a fake glare.

Dax fluffed up his chest feathers as if to shrug. He stood up on his hind legs and rubbed his tummy while flapping his wings. "See what I have to deal with?" Aria said while shaking her head. "He really is quite adorable," she said in a soft loving tone more to herself than to Magnus.

Aria turned back to Magnus and could tell he was still very uneasy around Dax. "I'm sorry, should I have him go back to my room?" Aria asked with a worried expression.

Magnus was lovingly patting his first seed in the dirt, like tucking a child in bed. "You grow big, you 'ere," he said to the seed. "Mmm," he said, "I liked the carrots, peas, corn, taters... mostly just didn't like the broccoli and sprouts." He laughed at her story. "Don't think 'e likes me," he said with a little shiver, "'e keeps lookin' into me like 'e don't trust me." He couldn't bring himself to tell her to make her beloved pet leave. "Nah, 's'long as 'e don't try an' bite me."

Aria saw Magnus() shiver in fear of Dax and felt sorry for him. She looked over at Dax and waved him to back off. Dax sauntered over to the table furthest away from Magnus in the green house. After looking back over his should at Aria and Dax he jumped lightly up on top of the table and curled up in a ball, keeping one eye on Aria. After a moment Aria asked Magnus, "Did you have to supplement much of your food with the things you were able to grow at the orphanage?"

The sad look Dax gave Aria made him feel bad. He was trying to like the animal. Slowly, very slowly he went over and put his hand on Dax. The contact lasted for only a moment and he quickly backed away and rejoined Aria. "'E loves you, its obvious." He nodded, "yeah, I mean we 'ad a lot of food from the stores an' stuff but where ever we could we'd eat stuff we grew. We also mended our clothes if we could--anything to cut down on costs."
