• OVERLAY: Artwork does not match Subeta style, quality, or level of detail in general • OVERLAY: Dodge/burn look or too much contrast in shading • OVERLAY: Oversaturated • NOTE: Overall this just isn't site quality - it looks like a very old item. The shading overall is very dodge/burn and the dress itself is very stiff.
Can any help me with this denial that staff has kindly sent me. I am so glad I have a chance to improve it further but need some eyesight/extra opinions.
Okay, I get that its too bright and too dodge/burn (I did not do dodge and burn) I get that and know how to fix. However I dont agree with old site quality as I have seen worse approved and worse Old site art but I can see why they would think/feel that so im not offended. I think once i fix the dodge/burn issue, it should look better and hopefully not look like old site quality.
but one thing im confused about....its stiff? i was trying to aim for a dress that is in mid twirl, and she is suspose to have stiff sleeve puffs. most dresses from the past have always been stiff, if this was a slim fitting dress I could probably see that..clearly this is a style choice based on history of dresses that have been 'stiff' so my question is:::
how do i make it less 'stiff looking' without redrawing the dress?
thank you (excuse any slight sarcasm hinted there, i did not have any coffee or food yet.)
Honestly when you're given a denial for "it looks like a very old item" it's because the people approving have seen your art before and KNOW you can do better. I've gotten denials for this I believe... 2-3 times in the past? And each time I've reworked the item and been happier I put the extra time in. C:
Would you mind a redline? (Also if you're using multiply to shade, it looks like you're using a very high contrast blue atm so try using something more toned down and that should immediately help! C: )
thank you for the insight on the 'you can do better' good way of thinking. your so positive, i can be a little rain cloud. thanks for brightening it up! :)
I never thought it about that way. very inspiring.
I may have been using some shading effects at the time. You can redline, id appreciate that. I am most curious on the stiff comment. did they mean the shading needs more smoother and celshaded...or the shape of the dress???
here is what i have now.

Hopefully this all makes sense, please ask if you need any clarifications! (And as a note, the first time I got the denial I was not so chipper about it easier, and so I understand seeing it as a negative due to the way it's worded!)
