Do you ever set budgets for yourself when making HAs, or do you just plan it all out and worry about the cost later? What's the most expensive one you've ever made? I'm working on one right now that just happens to be all Cash Shop items so far, so I almost want to stop working on it haha!

i usually try to make something with items i already have, but sometimes i just dont have one or two items that i absolutely need to make the look come together. so depending on the price i'll either save a bit and buy it or just try to borrow it.

I will start with a couple of items from my wardrobe and create a theme around them. Most of the time I already own the items, but sometimes I'll have to go buy the items I am missing. I don't budget myself unless the item I am missing is something like 15mil. Then I will go replace it with something similar. I have made outfits in the past that were 95% custom wears so they can get really expensive.

I tend to think more of a feel or theme I'm going for, and if I don't already have something I need to fill in a gap, I'll go browsing SL for a non custom to fit. As long as the individual item I'm buying is less than 20m and will be used multiple times, it's cool. If it is a one-off thing, I'd prefer not to spend more than 5m on an individual item for HA purposes.

That said, I could very easily make an avatar out of entirely cash shop, CWs, and old CIs.

I actually never make an outfit with items I don't have! My favorite pieces all cost millions and I have at least one of them in each HA.

Well, I had some SQ and CS items from doing commissions on my old account but that was back when they would delete you for inactivity... I had to buy a few of my faves back but tbh I've probably been absurdly cheap my entire time here otherwise. lol I throw whatever I get for free or find for mega-cheap in my wardrobe and try to make them work together.. Though my last outfit I actually bought a few things directly from the main shops to try to make it work better! :o This one I'm wearing right now though? I spent a lot of time looking for and testing non-cw items for the best match... I added it all up before buying so I could save for it and estimated 14 mil!! But I got confused and ran into some errors, esp with the layers, I accidentally ended up buying more than I needed, they should really have a conformation for that, ouch! And at least they were cheap items? But a few that I bought and immediately added to my wardrobe got eaten??? I had to buy new ones! Not rad. So yeah this was like 15 mil... I don't know if thats normal or expensive but it was sure painful buying items over 15k lol
