I have quite the distinctive love-hate relationship with the art...

But I've been writing poems like a mad-man.

I guess I'll share some with y'all:

Dependence Let it run, within my blood Let is settle, in my lungs Let it rot, my pearly whites Let it comfort, my stressful nights Let it soothe, my raging crave I know you’re worried, but I’ll be brave So, let me live to light one more ‘Till death comes knocking at my door

Woe of Eve When heaven’s clouds parted, an angel sung And from the ribs of dust, life had sprung To live, to love, to accompany man. Destined to follow, when he offered his hand To lurk in the shadow, when he left the land Just more to serve and be less than. Though one could tell, by the look in her eyes That she longed to be more than just a prize But alas, it’s known, and perhaps it’s true That a woman’s shout is worth less than A simple whisper from a man.

I'll share one too. I don't think I'm quite finished with it, but here it is:

i walk into the coffee shop of wasted potential. sparing no time to look at the menu, i go up to the counter and order the failed poet. better make it a grande since eight year old me still has that itch in her bones that wont let me sleep at night. can i get that with a shot of self loathing and extra foam? bittersweet with a disappointing aftertaste. i charge it to my card and tip my soul cause im fresh outta change and this paper isnt worth anything anymore. i go to take a seat for the next five years, but my orders already here. the name on the cup spells empty, but it sounds just like Amy so i take it. its warm and goes down easy, drowning my vocal cords in dark roast complacency. breathing in the scent of apathy, each exhale brings the still, silent screams of resistance and i... am

nothing. each sip drains me slower to the bottom until all thats left is an empty cup. someone tells me theres a trash can next to the exit, but i dont know where that is anymore. i dont think they do either. we stare at each other until i ask them about the weather. they say 'thank-you, you too' and leave. i go back to the register for a refill and the password to the wi-fi.
