Now that the term is over, I would like to take this time to open up applications for next term's Club Captains! Club Captains will essentially run the club they are the captain for and come up with the plans for the term. Tryouts will be done before the beginning of each term, as to give everyone a chance at trying their hand at captain. Members can be captain more than once, but it is very unlikely that they will be captain for two terms in a row. We'd like to give everyone a chance to be captain!

If you'd like to be Club Captain for one of the clubs below, please send me an sMail with your application. Below is a list of clubs that were open this term. There may be more added later into the term, however those will be headed by me if we feel that we need to see how the club goes before we allow others to take over. Also if a club captain position is not filled for a club on this list, it is possible that it may not be a club for next term.

Quidditch Club - Note, this is NOT the Quidditch Cup!

This is primarily a roleplay club and will require someone to instruct, coach, and participate regularly.

Application for Quidditch Club Captain: 1.) Are you currently a member of the Quidditch Club? 2.) How often do you check our group forums? 3.) If made captain, what will be your plans for the club? 4.) How will you choose teams for playing Quidditch?

Book Club

This is primarily a discussion club. One book should be chosen for the term and then discussed.

Application for Book Club Captain: 1.) Are you a current member of the club? 2.) How often do you check our group forums? 3.) How do you plan on choosing the book for the term? Will you continue to the next HP book in the series, put it to a vote first, or do you have another idea in mind? 4.) If continuing on with the next book in the series, do you have any discussion questions already prepared? 5.) How will you encourage other users to make observations and pose discussion questions?

Care of Magical Creatures Club

This term the Care of Magical Creatures Club was primarily a roleplay club. If you are chosen for this club, you can either run it as a roleplay or as a discussion club--the choice is yours.

Application for Care of Magical Creatures Club Captain: 1.) How often do you check our group forums? 2.) What style would this club primarily use? Roleplay? Discussion? Chat? Other? 3.) What are your plans for running the club? 4.) How do you plan to encourage members to participate? 5.) Do you plan to keep the magical creatures limited to the ones that are expressly mentioned in the books (including Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them)? Or do you plan to go beyond the canon and supplement with some others? 6.) If you plan to supplement, what resources will you be using? 7.) Will you try to incorporate the HOOT Club (Owl Enthusiasts) somehow? If so, how? If not, why?

Dueling Club

This is primarily a roleplay club and will require someone to instruct, coach, and participate regularly.

Application for Dueling Club Captain: 1.) Are you currently a member of the Dueling Club? 2.) How often do you check our group forums? 3.) If made captain, what will be your plans for the club? 4.) Do you plan to have any Dueling tournaments? 5.) How will you try to encourage members to participate regularly?

Art Club

This is primarily a discussion club and should be done out of character. This is a place for Wizarding members to show off their art, get advise for their art, etc. All mediums should be included.

1.) How often do you check our group forums? 2.) If made captain, what will be your plans for the club? 3.) How will you encourage members to participate past posting their art?

Open Club Slot!

If you have any particularly good ideas for how one of the clubs mentioned on the Club Interest list, now's your time to make it a reality! Submit a general application for a club and it may be chosen to start at the beginning of the term with the other 3 currently available clubs. If it's chosen based on your plans, you will also be made Club Captain.

Is there going to be a summer term? I want to apply for one of the club captains but not until summer, too busy with school right now.

The third term is from March 5th to June 4th, then we will probably have another 3 week break. So part of the fourth term will be during the summer.

So I'm gathering that, for most of the clubs, they are either OOC (Art Club, Book Club) or roleplay type clubs. So the club list on a character sheet isn't so much what our character does as what we the players do, correct?

Also my internet is currently out (I'm at a neighbor's), and while it /should/ be fixed by tomorrow evening, I have no guarantee. I have some ideas for clubs, but it does depend on what the answer is.

the student roster doesn't necessarily reflect what you do in the cult, especially since not all possible clubs are represented. It's more for roleplay purposes.
