Okay, I've been on and off Subeta for nearly a year now. I got on a couple of days ago and I wondered if anyone has ever considered writing fiction for the site? I mean, apart from pet stories and lore that is. Like, has anyone ever written a full blown tale about the world of Subeta? It's been bugging me.

[-Ryora] I'd love to write fanfiction of various NPCs someday, there are so many of them whose lives would be interesting to explore. I think there's only about a handful of fanfics that aren't about fanpets, but even those are old. Subeta definitely deserves a lot more of fanfiction.

Even writing fics about your own characters? Not NPCs? Hmm. I'll give it a shot. It's certainly worth the challenge.

[-Ryora] I write at this moment only about my own fanpets, but I have got also a view about some other characters like Major Drills and Maleria.

The fun is everybody could have his/her own interpretation about some Character, item or place. For me that is the most valuable thing.

What about some fact's well I take them into my story's, but by the one more than by the other character. It depends on if those facts from the official Subeta lore match with my own fantasy. Most of the time I concerning about this issue too. I think it is especially important that a story no matter how absurd, yet has a logical coherence and that certain things or events do not contradict each other.

One of my fanpets is Saggitarius. This is the official info:

Styling himself as Saggitarius only, Dominic Saggitarius is a legendary dragon slayer turned wealthy Centropolite business tycoon. A vocal advocate of the Chancellor, there is rumor that Saggitarius made a generous charitable donation to the Chancellor's office in exchange for his position, though this can not be officially confirmed or denied by anyone. Saggitarius is very social and is always happy to tell an exciting story about his dragon-slaying days, though it appears that he prefers the prestige of his position more than he does the work.

I have a little trouble with those sentences: Saggitarius is very social. and: ...it appears that he prefers the prestige of his position more than he does the work.

I find this difficult because I do not understand how to interpret this. Someone who says little but does much for others, is also very social? Moreover, these points about him speaks rather against each other. For that reason I do anything with it in my own fanfic.

This is how I deal with the facts.

At the current day’s he is known as a sassy, rich and flamboyant man who likes to talk about the time when he was a dragon slayer. He is extravert, talkative and very vain. He has got an official job as a vocal advocate of the Chancellor. There are rumors he get this job when he gave a big donation to the Chancellor's office in exchange for his position. This is never proven. It is in any case a fact he is very rich and he makes no secret about this. He is a wealthy Centropolite business tycoon.

I use in the rest of my fanfic from the official info, especially he was a dragon slayer.

Personal I prefer much more for an informative style, like David Attenborough presenting nature programs, than for a style it would have more from dialogues such as in The Sims.

You make a few good points - particularly about people's interpretations. I wasn't even going to touch on the topic of NPCs in my fic, and just have a Subetian OC slice of life type thing. Maybe a few NPC/OC interactions but that's it.

-Ryora,

It depands on the paricular iteraction if official info is needed to use. The benefit of interactions are the chance you have to deal with official info is most of the time smaller than you write about the whole particular character. If you prefer a little freedom in your own fantasy, interactions could be a handy way.
