Alan Rickman has died aged 69 in London after suffering from cancer. February 21, 1946-January 14, 2016
Ugh, I feel sick this morning having found out. I've been following Alan since Die Hard came out all those long years ago. He was absolutely brilliant in everything he did. He will be sorely missed. A terrible start to 2016 with the loss of two legends.
I feel the same way. I'm absolutely stunned and very saddened to hear this. He was an amazing actor. It makes me want to curl up on the couch and have a movie marathon that has him in them. He really was a brilliant actor.
Same. I cried when I read it this morning. RIP
:( So sad! He was truly one of the greatest actors in the world

Damn, we're just losing legends left and right. RIP. :(

I agree I have watched his films growing up from die hard and beyond, I just didnt want to believe what I had read when I found out today
Quote from Alan Rickman: "When I'm 80 years old, and sitting in my rocking chair, I'll be reading Harry potter. And my family will say to me "after all this time?" "Always" In the near future when people ask us "are you still mourning Snape?" we will say "Always,"
I light my wand in tribute to the actor who played the bravest man we will ever know

I was so upset when I found out this morning. It doesn't feel real. I hope his friends and family are staying strong. RIP ❤

One of my favorites. ❤

Sadly, he never actually said that. He confirmed it somewhere but I can't remember where. :(
I'm so shocked, I know how I feel and I imagine what his family is going through is 1000 times worse. There will definitely be some kind of movie marathon I'll do but not yet, I don't think I could get through 5 minutes before the sobbing started. It's funny how someone you never met can impact your life for the better in so many little and unexpected ways.
I haven't checked my phone all day only to see a text from my sis a little while ago. I am devastated.
I knew him best through Harry Potter, as I am sure many did, but I have seen him play a variety of roles from a sci-fi actor to a caterpillar to a king. Also, as a huge Austenite, I feel this deeply. Anyone who does classical theater and period work has my highest respect for they must make you feel and understand even with the barrier of archaic language. We have truly lost a magnificent man today; he was a wonderful human being in every aspect of his life.
And to think I randomly caught Robin Hood on a couple of days ago and watched it. The irony of life is too cruel sometimes. ;_;
How long will his fans feel this pain? Always.
RIP Alan Rickman. You deserve rest. I only hope that your wife (whom he has known for 50 years!) does not have too long to wait to see you. To spend that much of your life with someone and to know that tomorrow you are going to wake up and they will not be there... I-I know what that feels like, and every day sucks, to say the least.
My goodness, first David Bowie and now Alan Rickman? Can someone please just take out cancer already? I've a few scores to settle with it about my dad, too. :x
I was stunned by the news as well. Have always thought he was an actor who just held your attention. I knew him long before his fame in Harry Potter and he is the only reason why I watched the movies ok him and Helena :) Was always more of a LOTR fan. His voice oh his voice I could listen to it forever. Even after losing the majority of my hearing I can still "hear" it. Glad he was able to pass privately.

Alan gave life to one of the best characters of HP. It's hard to imagine any other actor does a good job interpreting snape as Rickman.

Even though it's months later, his death is still the one that's hit hardest this year. He was such a versatile, talented actor, it's still surreal imagining there being no more films with him in. I hope his family are doing well, especially as it approaches the holiday season.
