As others have noticed, sometimes Maleria asks for more than one of the same item at a time. It seems though, that when she asks for three items, and two are the same item, that you actually only need one of that item to complete the quest. I noticed this when a quest went through even though the tab I opened to buy one of the doubled items had an error message instead of having purchased the item. This did not seem to be the case when she asked for only two items, and they were the same item (you needed to have two of that item).
I noticed this too!! :O She was only asking from about a pool of 8 items, most of which were from the battle shop.
Maleria asks for Weapons Warehouse and Defend and Conquer and has done so for months now. She has just recently added from Spells Galore. This part of this quest grantor is not an error.
yeah yesterday she kept asking for like the same 5 items over and over and over.... it was like, tutani jaws, ruffie dagger, chicory..... like jeez that doesn't seem right, something's got to be going on there.
It may be a repeat of what happened with the Library's quests.
From what was said on that thread, staff will set a certain pool of items that the quest giver asks for within specific limits; this rarity, that price, these shops, etc. The quest will then only ask for the items that were within those caps. Eventually, though, with people buying the cheap stuff and with hoarding and manipulation in the mix, the pool of what works with those caps gets narrower and narrower. Things that were excluded from the original pool have to be specifically added back in before they'll be asked for. This is only my layman's understanding, though.
Unfortunately, if it goes the same way the Library quests did, she's eventually just going to start asking for one thing over and over again before ending up with an 'item not found' error until they fix the pool again.
