I'm trying for the level 15 achievement, but i always die around level 7 due to either too many board reshuffles or nothing stopping the Baron's hand. How do you play Matlal's Jewels?

I think I may have once reached level 9. I actually think there's a bug preventing one from going higher than level 10.

If you're going specifically for levels rather than profit, I recommend the endless version rather than the timed. Then concentrate on clearing bombs.

Is there really a bug? That stinks. Would it possible to get the achievement on endless mode? I've never tried the endless version before.

yes, for sure. I started playing on endless to get all the level achievements (other than the highest), then switched to timed for better sp and scores for the high score list.

You don't really make much higher levels in endless, but it does give you slight advantage since you pay attention to less things.

Good to know!!! I just tried and died at level 6 but normally I die there anyway on timed lol. It'll take some practice but at least now I have hope!!

Try endless mode and get rid of bombs as fast possible and don't give up no matter how man secs are left! I just saved a bomb with 1 second until explosion!
