So, it's kind of a basic idea here, but as someone who loves buying shirts, coffee mugs, etc. from local businesses I'm wondering if it would be possible to have merch you could get from stores where it would make sense to have certain items like Get Mugged has. Maybe even backdrops to some of them.
-Stick it to the Man! could have a logo sticker or two supporting it's own store -backdrop of the interior and/or shirt for the Food Market "I support the local Food Market!" or something -Quick Bites uniform/food court-esque backdrop -Half Baked could have a really cute, tattered apron, hat, and oven mitts -Rathskeller Inn with a branded mug or flask
Just throwing the idea out there, I'm not going to die if nothing comes from this at all.
This sounds really super cute tbh ;^;
Our local grocery store sells shirts, like employees need to wear them as uniforms but anyone can buy one and I actually think they're kind of cute even though I don't have one :P
Full support because cuuuute
I love this idea! I especially like the idea of the backgrounds. Super cute!
I really like this idea! Support 100%~~
Aww, what a lovely idea! Total support ^^
Oh my dog, so cute sounding! I would buy these.
We got an apron and hat at the end of last year (I know, forum shop, but still). As I said in the news there, a background/foreground duo of her shop would be AMAZING.
Beach Shack could have a line of branded swimsuits coughmale vintage one piecescough Lost Skeleton could have a line of branded snacks. "Seedlings Seeds" Minions Market needs shot glasses.
Liking this idea a lot!
So, maybe...
Apocalyptic Apothecary:
Minions Market:
Atebus Shop:
Beach Shack:
Half-Baked:
That would definitely be fun!!! I love it :D Also, it could be implemented in a couple different ways. Yeah, they could restock like normal, or...
The more common merch type items could be reached on a 'shelf' at the register. Like a link in a sentence about, "Hey do you want to support our store?" and it takes you to a page with set inventory, kinda like the newer shop setup at GoOutside, showing all the store merchandise, mugs, keychains, stickers etc.
And then the super awesome fancy items like backgrounds/foregrounds of the shops themselves could be ach prizes for restocking a certain amount of items or 'supporting' the store through buying a certain amount from the store merchandise shelf.
I kinda forgot to come back and check on this thread after a while and I'm stoked to see so many other people think this should be a thing as well :)
Crossing my fingers we get a Subetan Businesses month or something cheeky like that
I clearly don't come into this subforum often enough. This is a great idea! Now that the main shops page has been very nicely reorganized, it would be great to see the shopkeepers get together and have a little "support your local businesses" day, maybe in an event kind of like the Small Business Saturday that happens the Saturday after Thanksgiving in the US. It started back in 2010 and according to Wikipedia, it's spread to the UK too. Or maybe do a little tag sale or something with the shopkeepers and have them get rid of extra merchandise. Maybe have food stands with leftover food from the day before that they can sell at a "discounted" price. (Just trying to think of things that can be done either in the summer or at any other quiet week/end in the year :) )
This is a really great idea! I support it. :) I think it'd be really cute to have Maybel sell store brand catnip, cat-trees, frisbees for the doggies with a logo on it. Also, piratey/seafaring backdrops would be fun for port plunder stores. Maybe they could sell rowboats with their logo on it. Could also try something like scuba diving for sunken treasure but make it random as to if you get something nice or not.
I support this! Everyone is having super awesome ideas for this. It could work well for a day in the summer like said, or even just as a non-restocking section of a shop!
Let's be real, those shops (like GoOutside and Medicontra and Zombie Den) are great sP sinks because their items never (or, very rarely) dip below actual sale price in user shops. So when I'm looking for one of those items, I buy it directly from that shop. 5 items in a lot of the main shops could be the same amount of work as opening a whole new non-restocking shop...and it would be awesome, and maybe their things could rotate annually? Like they open on "Subetan Business Day" and then next year on Subetan Business Day the items retire and we get some new merch. So we eventually can have a shirt or mug from each business c:
