Hi! So the book series that I'm trying to find takes place in the late 1800's, early 1900's. In the first book, it is about a female detective who goes undercover as a governess (or a lady's maid) to solve a case. However, her secret is found out by a guy (I believe his name was Nicholas), but instead of turning her in, he helps her solve the case. In the second book, the woman goes undercover as a errand boy so she can get onto a construction area. There she gathers information on what's going on, but almost is found out again by the same guy (who she believed was dead because he supposedly succumb to a disease that he got when traveling)

This is a total shot in the dark because it sounded SUPER familiar to me too - but you're not talking about the Louisa and the Missing Heiress series, are you?

all or nothing, it's written in blood.

I don't think this is the right book series, but it sounds extremely good. I'm definitely adding it to my read list! Thank you (:

Darnit! There are too many 'young lady in the 1800s disguises herself to solve crime' books!

Hopefully you end up finding the right one! ❤️

There's a series called The Agency by Y.S. Lee I haven't actually read them but I've read about them and I think that might be what you're looking for
