One of my habits is to browse shops once every couple of days, and snag anything I see (from a list I've compiled) that is a regular quest item, and that would fall over the price-range of 20-30k. (Or sometimes 40-50k when I get lucky.) I've found these two points to be my most reliable source of income for restocking, rather than only trying to go for higher rarities. Which means I buy a lot of quest items to stash or sell. My usual haunts are the weapon shops or one of the food shops, mostly, since they restock fairly often, don't see much traffic, and are definitely always in demand for quests.

In the past month or so, though, Book Nook has been where I've gravitated to, and I mention all of this because I'm doing it pretty much solely to save myself the sP. There's been a bit of a weird trend in book prices. Or, at least those that restock commonly. And I mean that literally! Common, Mundane, and Really Common varieties have drastically shot up in price.

Things I've observed passively, but paid more attention to tonight:

  • Restock rates in Book Nook in general seem very... erm. Slow.

In addition, each time I visited the shop tonight, the books have been snapped up. Not just rares. All books. Regardless of rarity. It's like watching the Grinch take the whole tree and grab the light that popped off on his way out, lol. Sometimes there's maybe some bookmarks left.

  • The last stock of the night that I participated in took approximately 1 hour and.. 3 minutes I think? Before the shop finally stocked again. (And took a matter of minutes to empty out almost completely.) The 1+ hr one I saw is the extreme end, but many approached the half hour mark before that.

  • Prices for the smaller rareties are steadily going up and up and up instead of coming back down. One of many now look like this:

  • When I searched any of these books, they all had in common the price ranges and rarities (and in some cases, even higher) that I regularly pick from, and for the most part, look like the example pictured above.

It just seems really strange to me that the most "common" rarities are rapidly becoming more expensive than quite a few of the higher rarity books I've restocked alongside them.

Did I miss something during the whole holiday hoopla that would've caused this huge spike in book prices for specific rarities this month, am I just hearing hooves and thinking zebra instead of horse, or does something in the restocking code need to be tweaked again?

Library was almost every weekend the WSQ, additional to the "oops, we messed up, here, all quests are WSQ" x_x With the "fixed" restock system everything that is in a small & narrow questitem pool (especially the books...) skyrocketed in prices.

Oh, goodness, I never thought to take into account the weekend quests! I so rarely pay attention since I try to do all of them when I'm able, that it just slipped my mind entirely, hah.

That probably does explain a lot this month, thanks.

There is also a complaining board in the site feedback forums called "Book prices worse than ever" :)
