Lol! I keep putting them on and hitting 'save' and the lips are just not showing up. It's a lip item - the ones currently on my avatar are just the basic lips the avatar uses.

are you still having trouble with this? it could be that you were using too many face slots and so when you saved the lips didn't show up.
