who else is really into hamilton right now? it's taking my school by storm.
what's your favourite song? do you have any special talents, like rapping all of guns and ships by memory?
tell me:D
(i love, love your username!) i recently got into hamilton and its kind of taken over my life :')
fav songs (cause i could never pick one lmfao) are probably wait for it, satisfied, and the room where it happens. burn is good too... and the reynolds pamphlet... its all too good tbh. i cant QUITE rap all of guns and ships but im getting there. ive been chipping away at memorizing satisfied actually :'|
i love hamilton. it's already in my top five musicals and i haven't even had a chance to see it live. as happy as i am with its success at the grammys, it made it that much harder to see it, haha.
my favorite songs would be right hand man, satisfied, wait for it and stay alive.
I flew from the UK to queue in the Hamilton cancellation line last month and queued for 12 hours from 2am to get tickets. We were the last pair to get in and managed to get $40 standing tickets, but it was so incredible i didnt care that i was standing lol I thought id be super jet lagged and tired throughout but it was so engaging and emotional that i barely noticed at all! The lack of sleep may have caught up with me in my evening show though as i slept through most of it lol

I was vaguely aware of Hamilton for a few months, thanks to Tumblr, but about a month ago, I listened to the music properly. I was really surprised. I knew there was rap in it, but I didn't realise how contemporary and melodic the songs were. They sound like the music that I'd actually hear on the radio, rather than a musical. Musicals tend to be so focused on telling the story or they're so specific to the story, but Hamilton is catchy as well.
I don't think I'll ever be able to see it live. I don't have a favourite song either. I know a few snippets of the songs, so I tend to sit patiently through entire songs until it gets to the 10 seconds I know, then I sing along, then go back to waiting patiently, but I enjoy every second of it.
You are a hardcore fan! I admire your dedication so much, omg.

Im flying back to NY in 2 weeks time to try the cancellation line again lol The wait has gotten to be more than 24 hours now, but i dont care, its worth it lol

I assume the experience is part of it too, huh? Like people going to festivals know that they're going to be living in squalor for a few days but the music and the experience is worth it. Not in the sense that you'll be living in squalor, but that you have to take the good with the bad. Plus you probably get to meet some fans? :D

Yup, the sleeping on the street with other fans is definitely part of the experience lol Its good fun and everyone looks out for each other, which is nice :)

Do you guys have little sing songs and stuff? :)
I should also mention that I've never waited in line overnight, have never been to a festival, and have only ever been to one theatre show when I was ten, so I have very little idea what I'm talking about.

There wasnt any singing when i was in line, but i think we were all too tired lol At least when i do the cancellation line in 2 weeks it will be warmer so it wont be so bad for waiting longer. When i went in March it was 2 degrees celsius and had snowed the day before, so were were all a bit chilly lol
Ive never been to a festival either, but so far the longest ive waited for theatre tickets it 22.5 hours, but Hamilton will be longer this time. I went to the theatre 57 times last year, its my favourite hobby :)

That is really chilly! Yikes! I remember watching Michael Jackson's funeral in the city and it was only 3 degrees. That sort of nonsense is no fun at all. Still, I envy you for your hobby! If I could afford theatre tickets, no one would be able to stop me. I'm hoping to go and see Matilda soon, but Hamilton will be the biggest goal. Maybe one day I will be able to match you. :)

Im lucky that London theatre tickets are pretty cheap and i very rarely pay any more than the equivalent of about 30 dollars at the most for my tickets. It also helps that i live just over half an hour on the train outside of London so its pretty easy to get to. I put off seeing Matilda as im not a fan of seeing shows that have mostly children in the cast, but Matilda in London offer cheap (roughly $7.50) tickets for people 25 and under so i went right before my 26th birthday and I actually loved it a lot more than i thought i would and am really glad i saw it!

That's so cheap! I think seeing Matilda here (V.I.P) is going to cost $120 and a normal ticket is around $80. I'm glad you enjoyed the show though. I heard a couple of the songs a while back and just fell in love with it. When I saw that it'd come to Melbourne, I was ecstatic, and then my sister offered to buy tickets. It was a dream.
I'm worried that I'm getting too off topic now, whoops. Hamilton.

They owned the Tonys!! And i totally just saw Hamilton again last Saturday...flew from England and spent 67.5 hours on the street in the cancellation line. Got a seat in row G of the orchestra for $199 and was sat directly behind Liev Schreiber! It was incredible to actually see it from a seat (had standing room last time, which is restricted view) and its something im never going to forget!

That's so spectacular! I'm so glad that you got to see it from a seat! I still admire your dedication so much and, of course, I really envy your ability to just, you know, go. That's so cool, omg.
And they definitely owned the Tonys! It was nice to just see it everywhere again, because it had begun to die a little bit on my Tumblr dashboard, lmao.

He was lovely!

THAT'S SUCH A GOOD VIEW! And he's so cute! I'm going to fly into the sun, I'm just that jealous right now. I'm so glad you got such a good seat and a good experience. :)

I am trash for this musical. ;A; I can't stop listening to it, and even when I listen to other music, I always find myself gravitating back to the songs. Never thought I would love a musical about American History so much. I really hope it comes here to Australia. It might take a while though, but I really want the chance to see it.
Favourite song? I can't choose... so good... all of them... Recently I've kind been really into Right Hand Man and Meet Me Inside though. George Washington, hell yeah~
I shoved the soundtrack at my friend, , and I have no regrets! We're kinda planning on just being silly sometime and singing Cabinet Battle together. XD Not only that, we kinda thought up an AU of Hamilton with out own characters. Kinda drew one of my babehs as GWash.
I'm also proud about the fact I can sing, basically, all of Satisfied. Can't hit the same notes + hold them like Renée can, in the second toasting bit, though.
