I've been curious on how to do this for a good while, but just now actually wanted to try. I've been able to find tutorials on how to recolor images in photoshop and gimp but how about sai? Is it just not possible? I've spent a good bit of two hours trying to find out more information, and it just isn't there.

Any suggestions? Am I just not looking in the right spot?

It's been years since I used gimp, so I can't remember what it's capable of, but are you just talking about physically changing the colors of a selected area? If so, you want to use clipping layers.

You create a new layer over the layer that you want to change the color of and select "Clipping Group" It's under the layer opacity bar. A red bar should appear next to the new layer. Then just scribble on the new layer with whatever color you want.

It should look like this when it's done:

If that's not what you meant, then I apologize, I'm not quite sure what you're trying to accomplish.

I thank you for your advice. I'm merely trying to turn, lets say a blood red telenine, from blood red to the glade color scheme. If that helps any.

An easy way to manipulate colors in SAI is to select the layer you want to manipulate, then go to Filter at the top and click on Hue and Saturation. A window will then pop up in which you can manipulate the hue (or color), saturation (or dullness), and luminescence (or brightness) of whatever's on the layer. When you're satisfied with the outcome, click okay. c: Certain colors, like pure gray tones, may not change much since they don't have much of a hue/saturation to change in the first place. You can also manipulate the image further by clicking on Brightness and Contrast under Filter and messing around with its sliders. The Filters will only manipulate the selected layer which is nice if you have another layer you don't want to be affected. c:

SAI's Filters aren't quite as sophisticated as Photoshop's, but they're not too bad!
