"The password for this term is veritaserum, so you best not forget it. I remember all too well some students forgetting it last year. I expect top notch work from you all this term! We don't want to suffer another last-place term, do we?" She set her face into a serious glare for a few moments, then the expression snapped back into a smile. "Remember, the girls dormitory is upstairs, while the boys are downstairs. You'll find all of your things are in your rooms. Best unpack! Chop chop!"

[img align=left]http://i.imgur.com/t4g9e8g.png[/img] Poppy decided she'd unpack before she went to bed that night.

"Remember how we started out in the lead? Let's keep that up, or at least be competitive during this term everyone! We were nearly third and lost to Gryffindor in the last round of points for the House Cup. I'm Poppy Blackwood, Slytherin House Prefect. Is anyone going out for Quidditch?" Serena () was standing beside her so she gave her a nudge. They might as well introduce themselves again since there were some new and unfamiliar faces.

Serena looks up at her fellow Slytherins as she is nudged, "Hey guys! I am Serena, also Slytherin House Prefect." She flashes a smile, "I hope we are all ready for the new term! I don't want to lose again! Especially not to Gryffindor."

(I have nothing against any Gryffindors, I'm just in character. ;) )

It was good to be back for a second term at school, Ernessa got so bored over the holidays. 'I'm super excited for quidditch this term, definitely going to try out for keeper' she said to Poppy () enthusiastically. She then rushed upstairs to call dibs on the best bed and unpack.

When Ernessa burst into the girls dormitory she saw Samantha sitting pensively on one of the few beds with a window looking out into the lake, polishing a somewhat battered looking broomstick. A black and white banded snake coiled around the bedpost beside her. "Oh, Hullo" she said "Sorry I've made a bit of a mess unpacking" Her unpacking seemed to consist of piles of posters with red white and blue clad quidditich players zooming wildly about.

Selim fell back from the students that surrounded Professor Morgan in favor of keeping to himself. Nervously he tugged on the strap of his leather satchel and eyed the common room. It didn't look much different from the study at the manor... Well, except for the being underwater bit. Once the professor finished her speech, Selim made his way to the fireplace and fell onto one of the deep green chaise lounges preparing to wait out the chaos of unpacking. He pulled the leather strap over his head then tucked the satchel against his side before leaning back into the cushion.

Poppy ran to pop her head in upstairs and make sure she got the same bed from last term. She was delighted to see the girl who wanted to be Keeper chatting with a student who was positively buried in Quidditch things. Biscuit hopped off her head and onto the floor to scamper off to the bed that felt most familiar.

"I hope you don't mind me joining you for a bit. Ernessa (), is it? I was wondering if you would be interested in joining Quidditch Club. It's all we have until the tryouts." Poppy turned to Samantha () with a warm smile. "Slytherin could certainly use more representation on the pitch from someone like you too. I'm Poppy."

Ernessa threw herself down on the bed next to Samantha's, pleased that she was able to get a bed looking into the lake. 'Wow, Samantha (), that's a lot of quidditch stuff! Did you even have enough space left to pack any clothes?' She picked up the posters, trying to figure out which team was featured. 'What team is this? Sorry if that's a dumb question, being from Australia originally I'm a little bit unfamiliar with the rest of the world.' She then pulled out a poster of her own featuring a team whizzing about in green and gold. 'I'm definitely considering joining quidditch club this term, I think it'll fun, but what exactly does it involve?' She asked Poppy (), 'because I really ought to focus my time on potions class if I want to be a potioneer.' She picked up Lily,her cat, off the ground where she was trying to bat at the tail of Samantha's snake and placed her on her lap.

"I've only been to one meeting. Come to think of it, I think you were there too Samantha (), right? It's just fun and flying, but it's starting in earnest this term. Rox Oatwood is taking over for Malcolm Knox as Captain. I think it's good practice for Quidditch and I have missed flying without the rules of Caswell's class." Poppy stroked Lily and continued. "I love Potions but it's hard for me to work quickly within the confines of the class. Did you spend your break at home in Australia, Ernessa?"

& San grinned at Ernessa and Poppy.
"Australia? Cool! I'm from the 'States, You're right, it's a good thing these trunks are bigger on the inside, but there wasn't a whole lot of things I could really bring from home so I chose my quidditch stuff. Most of these are the US National team, from when we made it to the Semifinals last year, but my favorite team is the Sweetwater All-Stars from Texas. They're the ones with only one star on their robes. Yeah, I was at that club meeting..., nearly fell off my broom I was so nervous. I was hoping to be a chaser on our quidditch team, but I'm probably better as a beater. What position do you all want to be?"

'Then I think I will check it out this term, anything to give me a better chance at getting on the team! Yeah, I went back to Australia for the holidays, I have some family down there still so it's nice to go back and see them when I can' Ernessa watched as Sam () pointed out the different US teams on the posters enthusiastically. 'Well you're lucky your team has a star on their robes, mine has a kangaroo!' Ernessa was sick of kangaroos, 'but I guess they are kinda cool, their pouch being bigger on the inside and all...anyway, I'm gonna go for keeper'

"I want to play chaser, but I'd be a fair beater too. My team is Puddlemere United. Their robes are navy with golden bulrushes on them and they look quite smart. I'm heading out to stop in at the Dueling Club meeting and then I'll be back downstairs. See you both around!"
