Hello! I've reached the end of Undertale, and I'm really stuck on fighting Asgore. I've been playing a (mostly) pacifist game, so my stats are horrible. I know I have to weaken him enough that I can spare him, but I'm having a lot of trouble because I have no gold to go back and buy Glamburgers with, and the only health item I have left is Toriel's pie. I have the dagger and locket equipped. I feel like winning the game is kind of hopeless. Is there anything at all I can do?

stay determined! Talking to him a couple times will lower his attack/defense. Also, now is a good time to eat that pie Toriel gave you, it will also lower his attack and defense.

Without any other healing items, you are basically going to have to try to memorize his attacks to where you can dodge them. :/

(Edit because I forgot!) I was wearing temmie armor when I fought him, and trust me it helps a LOT. It's expensive though, but the price will lower every time you die. There are a couple of different ways to make gold in game, which is listed on the page I just linked there.

I did a pacifist run, and didn't bother with glamburgers. They heal 27 hp but if you don't gain any lvl your hp is capped at 20. Instead I went with the much cheaper bisicle from the snowdin shopkeeper. Heals 11 hp a turn AND you can eat em twice. :9

For some reason, when I talk to him, I can only tell him how many times I've died. After that, when I select the talk option, it always says "But there was nothing to say" and he isn't affected at all. I didn't kill any monsters in the entire game except for Toriel (I didn't realize I could have spared her until halfway through the game! My heart has been broken ever since), but maybe because I killed her, it isn't giving me the option to talk to him? I've been making good use of the pie, but I still just don't have enough health items to make it through the battle.

I also don't know how to go back in the game any further than the Core building! When I leave the building, I get to the end of that puzzle with the arrows/steam, and I don't see a way to get back to the other side. Am I missing something?

I never found the Temmie shop! I decided to switch to the apron, though, which restores 1 health every turn and has been pretty helpful. Could you tell me how to find the Temmie shop?

Thanks so much for your advice!

Don't feel bad. The only reason I knew not to kill mom Toriel was because I had a lot of the game spoiled for me. :P

I think if you keep heading south after you leave the hotel, you can get to the river person, and head back to waterfall (or snowdin, if you really wanted to!)

Do you remember back in waterfall, the room with the light up mushrooms? Where they light up the path when you interact with them? Temmie Village is south of that room, the path is in the bottom right.

Right! I forgot about the river person! For some reason I thought they were much farther back. I'll try going back to waterfall next time I play to earn some gold and hoard health items. Thank you!!!

No problem! It's been a while since I beat the game, but if you need anything else, I'll try to help if I can. :)

I know I'm a few days late but if you still need help on how to get more gold... Buy Cloudy Glasses from Gerson and sell them in Temmie Village. You get a bit of a profit. Utilizing your dimensional boxes can help you do a lot at once :D I also say that Cinnamon Bunnies are the best healing item cause they're cheap and heal like 22hp.

Thanks for the advice! I finished the game with a neutral ending, and I'll keep that in mind during my second playthrough. :-)

yeah also selling p much all your old weapons to Temmie helps a lot. I also did the Cloudy Glasses thing that mentioned in order to get the Temmie Armor. (I also died a lot but, you know.)
