By "sided" items, I mean items that are left or right side-specific. Such as the ToT tattoos from this year, or the new flowing sleeves from Fine Fabrics.
For most users, you only get 2 items per layer (correct me if I'm wrong). To get more, you have to buy more layers, which only last for a certain length of time, then expire. However, there are a number of items where, if you want to use both sides, you have to use up two layer slots, because the left and right sides are separate items.
For my proposition, any item that specifies left or right (i.e., the items I mentioned above, but NOT rings, held items, etc, that default to one side or the other) only count as half of an item. This way, if you wanted to use both of them, you would still have an open slot for a second item. I understand why they (well, some of them, at least) are separate items, and I can see (for some of them) why people would want to use just one or the other, but it severely limits what people are able to do if they want to use both sides as well as another item (such as a skirt or shorts with the leg tattoos, or one of the light scarves that go over your arms with arm tattoos).
Do you have the courage to ride with the devil?
Considering that new layer slots only cost 75k (right? it doesn't actually say how much it is in the wardrobe) and now last for 6 months (aka 12,500 sp per month), I don't think this is necessary. If this is problem you come up against regularly, then that seems like a pretty good investment to me.
Yeah, I can't say I find this necessary with the new cost for extra layer slots :/ Maybe back when they were 25 CSC for one layer for one month, but now that it's 75k sP for six months, it's really not that much to just pay it.
