I blocked it in both Noscript & Adblock the other day when I noticed it on this site. It was making my pages auto refresh. & it was annoying the hell out of me. Ive had no problem with it being blocked, until now. If I keep it blocked I cant see forum posts, If I unblock it I can see them but my pages auto refresh.

I use Palemoon 25.7 (its like a less bloated firefox)

can no longer do BQs also unless I unblock it. Jesus.

they made some changes the other day to how their events were handled and this service is supposed to help. it may be acting funny with your browser though... it doesn't do that with firefox.

edit: read here firebase is what made these changes possible.

Ok, thanks. I'll update my browser, see if that helps. I gave up on firefox a while back when they started adding all the useless garbage to it.

what kind of useless garbage? it works fine for me and I just prefer it to chrome. anything besides chrome and firefox I just tend to not trust as much. hopefully updating it fixes the refreshing problem but it sounds like a browser specific issue that may not get much support on here. who knows, it may be able to get fixed :)

Palemoon. Ive ditched Firefox after many many years of using it. Since 3.0 Them adding these little extras I dont want or care about. If you have to go into the about:config page to truly disable the crap they have stuck on it now, its not worth the time. Im talking about that "hello" thing & the "WebIDE" thing."

Is some of the useless garbage I meant. With pale moon I dont need to go into the about:config to disable or even tweak anything. I havent a clue what FF is like now. updating to the newest Pale Moon didnt help. pages still refresh. Maybe refresh isnt the proper word. But it does flicker, the title of the tab and the actual refresh button. Thank you for the link.

I actually have the same issue. Firefox 41.0.2 (which should be the newest one) so it's not a browser-based issue. Could be something to do with NoScript since I also use it.

Not really causing any problems but the "flickering" is very annoying.

I use Firefox and haven't noticed any issues. I do use Adblock, but not NoScript so that would be my guess as to what's causing it.

Yeah, any Subeta tabs I have open in Firefox are flickering now. Like they're doing a quick refresh or something. Irritating.

I'm using chrome and haven't had anything like that happen, so maybe it is an issue with your add-ons like someone else said?

I am also using no script but having no issues. Have you enabled everything? o.o

[edit] it does sorta flicker when I disable firebaseio, if you still have it blocked, you really should enable it. really when you use noscript and any site doesn't work correctly, try enabling things until it does.

I had unblocked it in NoScript. Ive just never trusted it. No scripts on this site are marked as trusted tho. If I need to do something that Does require certain scripts I temp allow everything, but As soon as Im done I revoke em all. You can still do other stuff on here without the need of the scripts. (For me anyways)

Ive decided just to unblock the main firebase one in Adblock in order to do my BQs. It still flickers but whatever. I get through BQs quicker now since Ive blocked something else. So it doesnt annoy me as much. I hardly never post on the forums. & If I want to ill unblock it. After Im done I block it again.

It does my head in. & Only because Im spending so much more time doing all the BQs & quests. I find myself spending 90+ min doing them. Where as before I would be fully done (30 BQs & 80 quests) in 30-40min Before the new buttons showed up I could do 10 quests in 2min or 15 with a GA in 3min. & BQs were quick.

Reading that link, They moved to firebase in order to fix the shoutbox, popup notifications & other stuff that wasnt mentioned. Not against anyone who likes that stuff, but for me personally I dont use the shoutbox & I dont need a popup bubble or a Red number on my tab telling me I have a notification. I can see the number on the side there.

& I do realise Im probably the only one who doesnt care for that stuff, but I find most of the extras on here to be useless. Which is why I block a lot of stuff on this site.

I am using both firefox and midori , updated at their latest, and with both I get that annoying auto refresh. It flickers a lot and I had to block the service also in the end.

Have to mention that I am not using No-Script.
