Hello wonderful humans!

So a little something before I get on with it : This is my first pet story. I'm not really sure where I'm going with them quite yet. My main love is art, but at the moment I am in between digital art tablets, so until I could draw my little friends I decided to try and write about them. This is only the beginning, but please let me know what you think! I AM COMPLETELY OPEN TO CRITIQUE AND FEEDBACK! Thanks! And enjoy!

“The day I met Jasper he bit my hand. He was bitter and angry. According to the old women he was better off alone. But when I looked into his eyes I saw something else. The tears he was trying to hold back glittered. They glittered and blinked like a desert star.” -Lorax

Jasper Inari : The Desert Star My Past I was born with my brother and sister, into a small yip, deep in the sacred desert. Our mother was named Breccia and she stood as the alpha. Our father had been taken by the harsh summer just before our birth, as our mother told us as soon as our wide ears lifted. She said, with a deep emotion in her voice, he lived for our life. We understood. Even in the first moments of our life we gained an everlasting love to our father. Our mother then named us. My brother, the biggest of us, was named Unakite. My sister, the most beautiful Common Jollin born (in my yip’s personal opinion) was named Mirage. I was then named. As the story from my yip goes, my mother howled out at the sight of my circular crimson markings. She howled out my father’s name, they say. He carries his father’s spirit, she howled, her voice echoing across the endless sand. No other name was chosen, so from then on I was known as Jasper. For me and my siblings, the beginning years were filled with knowledge and celebration. We three were healthy and eager young pups. Each of us growing more and more every day. But the desert is unforgiving. We forgot about its power.

The time was quickly approaching my eighth month of life. I had not yet grown into my paws yet, but my body was becoming sleek. Although I was not the strongest of Jollin, I quickly surpassed my yip in speed. There is no better feeling then darting over the sand. I found my secret in keeping my steps light as to not move any pebble beneath me. It was like I could fly over the sienna horizon. I was quieter than my siblings. I found my right place on the outskirts, watching and waiting, ready to do what I could when the time came. I began training with scouts and soon was in-trusted in taking my own shifts of walking the parameter. I knew I was where I was meant to be. I was content scanning the endless dunes, my soul purpose to protect my yip. It was just like any other day, the day this all changed.
