Is Riptide worth the hype? Is it worth keeping and training my pet up to T5 to use it? My pet is currently a high stat T4 so it's an easy jump to T5.

No, the hype is all about the wearable, not the weapon. You should continue training your pet up to t5, but not to use a riptide.

Agreed with . Legendaries are not worth it as weapons. All the combo legendaries I have I initially bought to wear because they look badass xD there are much better weapons out there for their tier that cost less or about the same.

It could be of help vs the Forj Matriarch since she can only be damaged by water. At T5 its what I use combined with my freezewand. Just one decent use for it I guess.

Riptide is definitely useful for Forj Matriarch and smaller pets, but hardly for the pricetag :)

This is true! I was assuming that found Riptide or obtained it some way as she was talking as if she had it already. For anyone reading this there are weapons you can mod with Water Baguette Crystals that are FAR cheaper and do the job just as well. For Tier 5 I used a water modded Goose-a-pult mainly for the lulz. Think it did 16 water icons per shot and also cursed for like 3 icons?
