So I had an idea that maybe we can redeem certain items in order to unlock a skin in the wardrobe (kind of like the hair coupons). For example, we have a few items that I think would work nicely as a skin rather than an item, like [item=genetech secondskin v.2]
There's no real reason for this change, except to free up an extra slot in the wardrobe for the Fullbody layer, but I think it also adds a bit of consistancy to the wardrobe as whole. I don't think the change would be that huge to code either (I may be wrong though).
[edit]Found more while I was browsing

That would fit in nicely in the antique shop as a straight to wardrobe type thing too.

Total support! I'm not sure if that's possible right now since the V3 is still a WIP, but I'd love to see those in the old shop <3
It would be neat to have them as redeemable skins. c: Antique shop sounds like a nice place to put them.
is needed as an item because it is a weapon and genetech combo to make another weapon, so in this instance it would need to remain. I'd be against releasing this into the antique shop also.
Just because they're available direct to wardrobe wouldn't mean the items themselves would have to be in the Antique Shop either, imo. I support this
because things that come from battling should remain only from battling. I'd hate to see any good price that is both a weapon and a desired wearable to be put in the antique shop or elsewhere even if it's direct to wardrobe. It sorta ruins the value of the item, essentially taking out a large portion of the market if you did happen to want to sell it.
I don't really think this suggestions benefits anyone much, I feel like the general Subeta population doesn't run out of 'fullbody' layers to use, and there are really very few 'exclusive' items left on Subeta - many rare items have already been released via the Crystal Shop, or Antique shop, etc.
Whilst I don't personally own any of the three rarer skins, I think they shouldn't be detracted by wider release. Not every single item on Subeta has to be widely attainable, it's nice to have a few exclusive things (that aren't CWs)

I like the idea of being able to redeem these into your wardrobe (the item would obviously vanish) because that is the system we obviously prefer now vs layering them directly over your base. I'll see if we can do that.
As for re-releasing them, some of the items have lost value (the secondskin especially) because now you can easily turn on/off your zombie / morostide skins, so I'll talk to about the options we have there.

I suggested it in May, glad to see that it brought up again and it's going to become real :) Thanks!
I didn't realize was something so rare or needed, I didn't really research these items, just saw that they could count as a skin and added them to the topic.
Leaving the redeeming optional (like the hair coupons) is a good idea.

I don't like this idea because it actually does limit things. Once you redeem them you lose the ability to layer eyes under them (SecondSkin, Decay, Flower, and Moss all have their eyes cut out). Not only can you change the shape of some eyes (and hide makeup/eyebrows), the skins already come with eyebrows that don't always layer well with others. You also lose the transparency of the SecondSkin. Although I doubt many users would actually redeem the more expensive and rare ones... If any would. But hey, to each their own ? I hope this means that we'll be able to redeem those limited zombie skins then:
This I could get behind 👍

^This please, I loved the strains and would like to wear some of them for as long as I want and not just a couple of days aka until the effect fades away again.
I have another thing to ask, can we get the holes in the Experiment 84 skin made transparent? Right now they're white and it looks awkward on full backgrounds :)

That's not possible. It's the same reason why the suggested skins eye holes are an issue. Skins don't replace the HA base, they layer over them. Which is why we're able to have non-full bodied skins. The only way it would work is if staff redid the base/skins again to make them separate layers (which they should be focusing on just making the wardrobe work), or making the skins wearable items (which ain't gunna happen).
oooh I didn't realize! Thank you for the information.

No problem ! I mean, I would love for those holes to be transparent because they'd layer better, but it just can't be done as it is. But honestly, who knows ? Eyes, nose, and mouth are all layerable in the new wardrobe (when it you know works) when staff previously said no.
