Have you ever wanted a pet name so badly that you spent years stalking it and praying that one day it would become available? I did that with a certain name that would have made my pet family complete. When I discovered that it would be cleared this year I bookmarked it and visited that page every day until today. I was all ready for it. I bought my extra pet slot today and waited for the time to come. I was so excited. I thought this was finally my moment! I nervously typed in the name and accidentally added a space in the middle. I hurried up and fixed the name and then clicked to create my new pet only to find out that the name had already been taken :( Seriously?!?!? This was my dream for so long and now it is just gone! Some people may think it is a small thing to be so devastated over, but it really meant a lot to me :( Now I just know that it will never clear again and I lost my one and only chance. Has this happened to anyone else?

Aww. I feel you, I think I've only ever chased one name but I wasn't the only one, haha.

Take it easy, time heals those kinds of wounds. You'll find a brand new name for the pet you were chasing and it'll be better than the original, I'm sure. c:

Oh my god, I am so sorry. I can't even imagine how horrible this must be. I care a lot about my pets too and have so many dream names. God, I can't even imagine.

Thank you :) Yeah it is pretty upsetting. Especially after following the name for so long. It seemed like such a far fetched dream, and then when it looked like it could possibly come true I was so happy. Now that hope has been squashed. Probably forever :(

There's nothing worse than feeling such hope, and then it gets crushed. :/

Aw, I'm sorry to hear that!....I can say at least you should feel better that you won/lost it on you own? I know, small consolation, but I had ONE name like that, the only one i obsessively stalked...I asked two of my really really good friends on here to help me "catch" it. Only one was on the day when it cleared...I went for it! I...missed. I looked the name up to see this name on my REALLY good friends account. My heart soared! Yessss. The pet was miine.. woo! I poked the person in question...and was told "oh, no I didn't pick this pet up for you, I picked it up for X." ..one of her OTHER friends. To say I felt a wee bit upset is a little bit of an understatement. So I commiserate with you and feel your pain. Maybe eventually you'll get a shot at it again. ^.^ Good luck.

Damn! Now that is truly harsh! I had something like that happen to me on Neopets. Way back before they added the transfer pet feature I wanted to have an avatar pet that I had created sent from my side to my main. I asked my friend to go on my side account and help me transfer the pet so that I could catch it on my main. I spent several minutes refreshing the pet to catch it. When nothing happened I asked her why she did not transfer the pet. She said she did. I checked, and she had transferred my favorite Cybunny (complete with aged snowbunny) that I had carefully named and created instead. Of course I lost my pet :( Her only response was basically "oops, was that the wrong one?" No apology at all. She actually got upset with me because I did not think it was no big deal the way she did. It sux when you can't count on someone. Thanks for sharing and thanks for the kind words. Misery loves company and all that? :)

Ouch! That would sting. .. And then the fact that some people that don't understand why you're upset when they do things like that.. o.o

And yeah, it's always nice to know someone else got just a bit crispy in the same way too. XD

Sorry this happened to you! :c I hope the next time a name clears up that you want you get it ^^ I've had this happen so many times when I see pets I want clear and I fail to get them then I sit there and watch the pet rot forever ;^; I'm super worried since I have a few names coming up in the next few weeks I really want and I have the worst luck with name clearings T_T

No worries, yeah hopefully they do something with the pet :C It's so depressing to always see them just rot away T_T I'm always tempted to ask if they ever plan on adopting them out, but I feel they'll just say no T^T Okies, I'd appreciate it so much ;^; (if you don't mind I'll smail you in a few days?). I know what you mean. I was almost tempted to contact them, but I figured if they took the time to hop on the name so fast that they must have wanted it for a reason. I was afraid that if I contacted them they would think it was rude or something.

If it makes you feel any better, it happens to me way more often than not. When I do manage to get a name (and it's one that might be somewhat popular), I assume I just got lucky for it go under everyone else's radar!

- I am sorry you missed out on a name that was important to you, it really does hurt. It will get better over time though, it's happened to me a few times! (I suck at snagging popular names in clearings lol)
