Hiya!
My name's Gry, both in real life and in this virtual world. My whereabouts is to be found in what's best described as a village suburb to Oslo (the capital of Norway). I share household with my two furry babies; a corn-colored Cairn-terrier named Ferrari & a grey long-haired cat named Rusken. My main interest & number one priority is giving these two the best possible care. Besides that, do I enjoy computer stuff, astronomy science, reading & socializing with fun & interesting people.
Well, that's a little bit about me. -See you around! :)
Hi Gry! Welcome to subeta! Lots of things to do here and lots of cool people! I hope you enjoy it!
Welcome to Subeta! Make sure to take a peek at the Scavenger going on currently for a few freebies ;)

Thank you, both, for the warm welcoming! I've taken the time to read myself up on the different game features, so I've got the basics, but it seems to be a kind of game where only practice can make perfect. I've at least got a fair share of exploring to do before I've got it all covered (lol). At this point, the big question is witch items to buy, as it's come to my notice that a fair share of the items can't be used to interact with the pets. As a newbie, I think it may be wise to make boosting my pet's abilities/stats my number one priority, so I'm wondering; Is there a way to find out whether or not the item in question can be used to interact (ex. feed, give, play) with the pet? :)
Consider using the SubetaLodge site I'd linked earlier, it is pretty comprehensive for all items.
When you say 'abilities', I know there are similar sites with such features, but we don't really have those per se.
If your interest is with battling, then Intelligence/Stats are more important - there are a bunch of great guides in the Battle forums linked in the stickies, as well as a chat thread where you can ask for advise from other more experienced battlers.
Foods eaten/Books read are kept track (you can find this info on your Pets page, next to the dropdown for each pet). Toys played do not keep track, though if you just want your pet to maintain happiness, a minion will usually do the trick.
If there is anything particularly confusing for you regarding what sort of items can be done with pets, if you give some examples, perhaps it would help us clarify a bit more for you? :)
Hope that helps :)

Thanks so much for taking the time to help me out with this! What I haven't been able to figure out through the help -pages, is whether there's a way to find out the function of an item, if any, before you buy it? -Ex: The toothbrush I bought in the grooming store couldn't be used to interact with the pet, while the brush could be used as a toy. What's the point/purpose with items like the toothbrush (except putting it in the vault or the pets treasure box), then? :)
Besides the Treasure Chests, stores or vaults you can use items that don't necessarily have an "interaction" for quests which offer rewards for both yourself and your pet(s).
That's what I meant about using SubetaLodge, which I had linked to you.
So you can search the toothbrush item, let's take Blue Toothbrush as an example:
Type(s): Specifies the interactions you can do, eg. Toy, Book, etc. As there is no 'Groom' option available on Subeta, there is nothing you can do to your pet with this item.
The available interactions (with pets) on Subeta are play for toys, read for books, give for minions, use for magic items (eg. elixirs for pet color/species changing, gender changing, stat boosters, etc.) and feed for foods. Hopefully I haven't missed anything out :)
Does that help explain it a little? Items such as grooming are more often wearable for the wardrobe (but not all grooming items are wearable!). The grooming/furniture items generally have less actual uses - they tend to be more a collection thing :)
