Hello ! When you mentioned being sensitive to smells, and wanting to do something inexpensive, I immediately thought of felting. You could either make your own felt, or buy materials to felt with. I've seen some nice hand-sewn ornaments, pet toys or pillows using felt or fabric.

I've never tried it, but when you said you wanted to preserve glitter tattoo sheets, maybe they could be decoupaged? I don't know how strong smelling that glue is, but there may be some mild varieties out there.

If you have lots of wrapping paper or other types of paper, you can use that with decoupage, or make paper mache critters.

You could get inspired with things in your home. For example, if you have a lot of used metal coffee containers, you can clean them and make some metal "tin-punch" items. Make your own design or pattern, and you can make holes (carefully!) with a nail and small hammer to dent or create holes for your design. You can then paint the outside different colors.

The last craft-project I did was make my own decorative table balls out of regular Elmer's glue, yarn and some old water balloons. I blew the balloons up in different sizes, and dipped the yarn into the glue. Then I wrapped the yarn around the balloon, and let it dry. Once dried, I popped the balloon, and had about five really nice round yarn see-through balls. I had made about 8 or 9 but several didn't dry right, or the balloon wasn't as round as I thought. I put them in a cute bowl and placed them on my coffee table.

I hope that gives you a start to work from! Good luck with your craft project! :)

im thinking about cross stitching..I ordered a beginner kit that makes a cupcake. It was only $5.12 and that includes tax.shipping was free and I used a $5.00 gift card so it only costed me $0.12.So if it doesn't work out at least it only costed me $0.12..

Ive seen people use stickers in resin but ive heard it has a strong smell and its not that easy to work with..cause of bubbles and if you don't mix it right it doesn't set..

Oh that sounds like you got a great deal on that cross stitch kit! Great bargain shopping!

I love cross stitching. I hope you'll enjoy it! :)

The resin stuff sounds difficult to work with. I've seen some really pretty life-like fish paintings that people make with acrylic paint that are within resin. When viewed from above, they appear to be a realistic looking goldfish or betta in a bowl. While they look nice, it's above my skill level to try. Hehe :)

Seconding hand sewing! It's fun and pretty easy, and you can make just about anything. Also if you have old clothing with holes/stains/etc. that would just be thrown away, you can salvage them for fabric! Knitting or crocheting is also pretty easy to pick up the basics of, if you want to give that a try. All you need is a pair of knitting needles or a crochet hook and a ball of yarn, and there are endless tutorials online.

There's lots of things you can do with just paper and scissors or an x-acto knife, too. I used to do a lot of collages from old magazines, that way you don't even have to buy paper to get some really cool patterns and textures. There's also quilling or cutting and bending paper if you want to make something 3D.

I wouldn't recommend resin for preserving the tattoos, since you're concerned about smells and also on a budget. Aside from being difficult to work with, the fumes it gives off while curing (and dust, if you sand it) are really harmful to breath in, so you absolutely need a suitable respirator and good ventilation to work with it. It sounds like you've already decided against it, but I thought I'd let you know anyhow. A lot of people don't know that they need to take certain safety measures, always better safe than sorry!

You could try regular elmer's glue (watered down a little) for decoupage, it definitely wouldn't be smelly or anything. I don't personally know how well it compares to mod podge or similar things, though, or if it would disturb the tattoo at all. If you want to make something similar to the tattoos, you could cut paint a design with glue and then put glitter on top of that!

I just want to do something with the glitter tattoos to preserve them..Ive seen someone use them on a wooden door..so im wondering what other materials they would transfer on to without having issues..and if mod podge or something else on top would help it last and not rub off.

It seems like a lot of people have used tattoos on glass candleholders and stuff (here's a video using some round glass knickknacks) I'd guess if it works on glass you can apply them to pretty much any smooth surface. And yeah, going over it with mod podge or tacky glue will probably keep it from flaking off. Might not be invincible, but it should work alright :)

Mod Podge isn't great for sealing things, in my experience. I tried to spray Mod Podge on a glittler pumpkin I made a couple of years ago, and the glitter still comes off pretty easily. Liquid Mod Podge peels like regular Elmer's glue when it dries, too, so depending on what you end up putting the tattoos on, you might have a problem :x I would look for an actual sealant and just spray it outside if at all possible.

As for cheap crafts, the glitter pumpkin you can buy supplies for from a dollar store; it's just a foam pumpkin and glitter, I used Mod Podge for it I think but any glue should work as long as it wouldn't melt the foam or something haha

That's about all I got for ideas right now, but you could check out crafts on Pinterest or Stumbleupon or something, and there's probably a cheap way to do it c: Paper quilling would also be pretty cheap, but it's not something I've tried to do haha

I would suggest wire wrapped jewelry. Or even other types of jewelry, like you can buy earring studs and find cute things to glue to them to make really cute earrings!

Here's a great website that I think is useful for craft ideas in general: http://craftgawker.com/post/category/jewelry/

Scrapbooking materials are cheap and plentiful at most craft and variety stores. Your glitter tattoos can be attached to a page with accompanying photos, rubber stamp images, calligraphy, or anything else that suits your fancy. hours of fun and a great way to preserve and display a lot of ephemera.

You can put temporary tattoos on actual candles too, not just candleholders. I tend to keep my candles for years, so that's how I keep mine (although I just gave away many of them to a young family). I'm a constant crafter, so I pretty much turn anything into art when I want to. An awesome craft you can do without any sewing or smell at all is tie blankets and woven rugs. They're super easy and fun.

ive never scraped booked..but I think I do have some stickers lying around..

I actually have a hand done tied fleece blanket only costed $10.00.I have no place for large crafts..

I wonder..put a tattoo on a paper or something and decorate it and make it a scene and frame it? Like a fairy tattoo on with some grass(maybe use colored pencils or something) under her feet?placed in a picture frame.
