I feel that last month should have been a great chance to UPDATE the Omen Islands map to go along with the Islanders collection theme. But it sits there, a series of unloved links. It missed the update with the cruise event, and it seemly to just miss a prime chance/reason to have a beautiful map like the other areas of the site. Even the new area has a great map. Will the Islands ever get art as well? Or will it continued to be shuffled over?
I would like to note that before people come in to say "Oh, we had a plot cut staff some slack", that I am not complaining about the plot eating up the month. I am saying that Omen Islands map could use an update and it feels like the perfect opportunity to do so was missed.
Agreed. The one month theme that would make the most sense to give the Omen Islands a map, and it didn't happen. :(

I don't remember much Omen Islands stuff being released at all. The plot was neat, but I was really excited for that month's theme and it was kind of a let down.
And now Shengui Guo is out, but this month's theme is random items and stuff? Meanwhile Shengui Guo is just sitting there with little more than a pretty map. I don't understand this decision at all.
They could have done "random items month" or whatever last month as filler while the plot was going on, and then a Shengui Guo / Omen Islands combo this month. They're both islands, Talk Like a Pirate Day is coming up, and the pirates were (kind of) involved in the discovery of Shengui Guo, so I think it could have worked well.
The only things "Island" related were... the Hydrus pets. And maybe a few Hydrus themed items. But that was it.

I think the manchu also got its revamp poll last month? But not the revamp yet, obviously. If they had pushed the Omen Islands theme back to this month then maybe the final revamp could have been released during the appropriately-themed month.

okay that was a highlight of August. didn't put in plot related posts, those were obviously not omen islands related. didn't include TS stocks because I don't think those were omen islands related. Below is what is actually omen islands related:

the bikini revamp and sunhat stuff is kinda related, but I feel fits into the previous month's theme a lot better, which was delphi beach wasn't it?
so really not a whole lot theme related happened last month.

We created the themes as a way for us to to flesh out parts of the site with a little more focus. Some have had more time spent on them than others, as some weren't sharing their month with something huge and conflicting. In hindsight, holding Omen Islands month in August just didn't work for the things we wanted to get done. I think for this reason, we'll revisit it in the future.
We're holding 'stuff' month now because we're just about to start event season, and it's giving us a bit of a breather before we start event season up again. It's also giving us a LOT of ideas that will be popping up in future months. These monthly themes have been a new thing for us, and some have definitely been more of a hit than others - both with users and staff! I hope you'll enjoy next month's theme, we're on track for it to be a good one - and an already requested one from this exact thread.

That's all very understandable. I am glad you will consider returning to omen islands as a theme because it does need a bit more than just a few hydrus pet revamps. Thanks for the insight!
