Around the beginning of Faded Memories Subeta suddenly slowed to a crawl for me. Every page takes 20 to 40 seconds to load, every time. Everything lags. Mouseovers lag. Buttons and lists lag. Trying to keep multiple tabs open just compounds everything. Quests I used to finish in about 20 minutes consistently takes over an hour now, and even simple tasks are an exhausting wrestling match with the site. I can barely make this forum post work; this is completely unusable.

I thought at the time it was just the heavy traffic and it would pass, but it's been over a month since this all started and no matter when I visit the site or what I do everything is the same. If anything it's been getting worse.

If it helps I'm using Firefox on Windows 10. This lag doesn't extend to any other websites; only Subeta. And I'm not the only one- I've talked to other people using this site and they've seen the same change starting at the same time. I love this site but I just can't use it anymore. I don't have the time or the patience to spend hours on simple tasks that are supposed to take minutes. Is this ever going to let up? Is there any way around it? Does anyone even know what's going on?

Windows 10 issue, maybe? I'm Windows 8 Firefox and it works as per usual.

do either of you have AdBlock? It might be a longshot, but I had similar problems a while back on a forum I go to. Pages hung up, gifs didn't function properly, etc. Someone suggested AdBlock might be to blame, since it can use a lot of memory (which may account for the lag!), and suggested this alternate blocker, uBlock.

I dunno if it will work, but I thought I'd suggest it, since I had those same issues.

No, I haven't been clogged by events. I rarely have more than a few anyway.

I'm worried that could be involved, yeah. :( This does line up roughly with the update after all. But I haven't run into any performance issues with other sites of any kind. So if Windows 10 is the problem, it's likely something about it interacting with Subeta, or something relatively uncommon that applies to the site.

I do have adblock, but I keep it disabled for Subeta because the banners have never been very intrusive. Did you have the same situation, and if so did you have to remove it entirely to fix the problem?

I removed it entirely, yeah. I don't remember if that was the recommended thing to do, but that's what I ended up doing.

Even though this change coincided with Windows 10 and with several onsite changes, removing adblock and replacing it seems to have completely erased the problem??? Suddenly the site is just how I remember it. The lag is gone. It's just GONE. I haven't even restarted my browser.

I have adblock and win10 and have had no problems, could have been a corruption when you updated your os or something?

Windows 10 + Chrome and no problems here at all for the moment so I'd really be looking at my own system first.
