I don't believe this is at all good enough for a submission. The shading is sloppy and some of the line art could be better. But I'd love an opinion. (I have no CI, I will probably need to commish that). I would appreciate any hints on what could be improved, what you would have changed to make this more marketable.

The item in question was lug booties, so these are shoes.

OKAY, updated on 9/25

How does these look for line art? Shading obvs. not done:

, what do you think? I tried to shade, but really sucked at it.

For a first CW, I agree that it's a good start! You follow the shape of the foot and are clearly trying to implement perspective, so I commend you on that. The only things I would suggest would be to continue working on the perspective of the right shoe (HA's left). The heel of the shoe lacks dimension, appearing as a paper cutout on the side of the shoe. I would suggest trying to think of each object being in 3D - The heel of the shoe is like a cube with a textured bottom for example, and multiple sides of this cube should be visible.

There are other things I could touch on, but I think the first thing you should start on is understanding how shoes work in perspective. I do with you luck with tying to create a CW that you feel is worthy of being submitted!

Please ping me to get my attention, I don't check the forums too often.
So sorry!

Thanks, I see what you mean about the heel, definitely. I think making a black boot make have actually been a really bad idea to start out with. I may try a smaller type of shoe to get use to the perspective, as you say. Thanks.
