So yesterday I just got my new iMac, who I named Mishonne, promptly put the Sims 3 on, and then played for 3 hours straight, lol. I am so obsessed with this game. Mainly, it's the house-building aspect I love, but I like playing the game just as much, honestly. I only ever played Sims 1 and 2 before, but my bestest friend had 3 and a few expansions and loaned them to me (except for Pets, which she still needs the disc for) so I could play it and now I'm addicted all over again.

But now I'm looking for good sites to download new hair and wallpaper and stuff from. And I'm also looking for an easy explanation on just how to get those downloaded things into the game. I read one on one site and now have a headache from it. If someone could explain that to me in terms you would use for an extremely dumb child, that would be great. Also, let me know of some good, safe-from-viruses sites to get things from!

And just talk about your Simming in general!

I haven't played my sims in forever...but i had good times. I had almost all expansion packs and i made my own towns custom. Normal neighborhood: Chemung. Downtown: I dont remember.... Shopping District: Cour de cour (from Pushing Daises). University: Kathmandu. Tropical vacation: Ha Ha Bay. Mountain vacation: Willacoochee. And my Middle East place was ...i cant remember....

As to getting stuff for your sims game, you want to make a new folder in the Sims 3 folder. So you need to go to Start, Computer, Program Files, Electronic Arts, Sims 3. In the last folder you create a folder called Downloads. What you do next is you go to modthesims.com (where i got my stuff) and download stuff. Those will show up in your normal Downloads folder. You go to that folder next (just Start, Downloads) and cut and paste them into your new Downloads folder in the Sims 3. Highlight all of those files and Unzip them or Extract all. From there I forgot what you do but it should be simple.

I don't know anything about Macs, but I can certainly give you a few sites to check out for good content! ModTheSims is great, but you need to register before you can download. All the mods are of good quality, but there is a lack of "alternative" style things, be it historical, goth etc. But if you want stuff that is just everyday modern, it's a good place to go.

There is also MySims3.blogspot, which hasn't been updated in a while, but it has a HUGE amount of custom content from reliable sites (but please avoid TheSimsResource)!!

I friggin LOVE sims, I just wish there were more dresses and stuff for the guys like ts2 [which I can't find anywhere :< ] My computer has mini heartattacks when I play it though lol..So sadly I had to stop

I always spend 3-4 months working on the perfect house, and then actually play with Sims for like half an hour before I start on another house.

I love Sims 3 too. I like to empty a lot and build a new home on it.
