Any big Doctor Who fans here? Who's your favorite Doctor? It's a close call between 9 and 10 for me but the 10th Doctor pulls ahead for me. Anyone going to see the premier of season 9 in theaters next week?

Yes! Huge Whovian here! Out of the new Doctors I gotta say it's a tie between Nine and Ten for me. From the classics I'm quite fond of Five.
David Tennant as the 10th Doctor was my fav. of the new 2005 re-launch of the series. whimsical and a little odd he is easy to love. also he introduced the "timey whimy" and "sonic screwdriver" to the series :D
from the original show... well I'm old so I'm allowed to say it! William Hartnell the very first doctor who in black and white and zero budget! he had such dignity that he seemed larger then life in the show yet whimsical enough that you can approach him. it seems his health was failing because by the end he had a hard time remembering his lines and it showed with little forced devices around him in the show. still love that guy, it was him that gave us the doctor we all love, quirks and all.
what does everyone think of season 9 so far. just watched the second episode and that was cheap cop out!
I think I'm stuck between David and Matt. It was great seeing them together. :)

My favorite is 10th Doctor. I tried to watch it once Matt Smith left and I just couldn't get into it. Honestly, it probably has more to do with Clara Oswald than the Doctor. She is by far my least favorite companion.
I feel like Clara got the short end of the stick coming right after the Ponds; it is really hard to be impressive after a pair of companions like that. She's growing on me though! :)
Loved this show, and then Clara turned up ruining it for me. I guess I dislike the character because she tries to take over as the Doctor, and attempts to make the Doctor just seem like a useless sack of stupid she has to carry around with her. She's not a companion working with the Doctor; she just steamrolls her way through everything trying to take over because of her narcissism.
Clara also ruined Peter Capaldi's entrance as the Doctor. He didn't even get to be much of a Doctor for his first season. Clara was apparently so superior she became the main character. I am really looking forward to her departure. Can't come soon enough for me. I hope the next companion has a more balanced dynamic with the Doctor. Osgood works really well as a companion imo.
You never forget your first Doctor... it was . and are my favorit.
I don't dislike Clara like some people do, but I do find she's quite boring and not very memorable compared to past companions we've had. To compare, Donna's antics certainly aren't easily forgotten, especially when placed next to Clara. She's pretty lackluster.
Perhaps better writing could have salvaged Clara, but because we didn't see any of that happening I won't mourn over it much when she leaves. It's scheduled to happen this season and I am admittedly curious to see what fate is in store for her.
10th doctor definitely. And not too fond of Clara either. Sorta miss Donna :b
I absolutely love Doctor Who, I actually have a Dalek tattooed on my calf. I really like Capaldi as the doctor, and after that it would be Matt Smith.

In case you couldn't tell by my username, I'm a Whovian. 10 is my favorite but I also love 9. 9 is sassy and cracks me up but there's something about 10 that just pulls at my heart.
When Clara debued her entire character was that she was a mystery so they didn't give her a whole lot of definging characteristics and that was okay. Then when the mystery was solved it's like they didn't know what to do with her and just kept firing random stuff at her character based on what people liked about past companions. I like that they had a companion who was a force in her own right, not totally reliant on the Doctor for everything, but they overshot what I think was the mark they were going for. I really, really, really didn't like the part time companion thing. This is totally a personal complaint, but I always felt like the courage to leave your entire life to travel the universe was the thing that made someone a good companion. Having Clara in both worlds, I think, took away a lot from the character and the feeling of the show as a whole. Especially because they made the Doctor so active in her world. However, I was thrilled that they gave her a deep platonic relationship with the Doctor AND a love interest, you don't get to see a lot of contrast between those two versions of love in tele very often. I liked that it created tension in both relationships because that is a wonderfully human situation that builds up all the characters involved. Overall I like Clara, but I feel like she suffered some weak writing and the best parts of her went unused. Osgood, however, I hate. She was a stupid joke when she first showed up, she's a stupid joke now, and I am so friggin thankful she's not going to be a main character.

Choosing my favorite doctor is hard! 9 was the first for me, though I did go back and watch the classic Doctor Who episodes later. 10 was charming of course, but I was surprised to see myself get attached to 11 so quickly. I really didn't think I'd like him at first, but 11 is definitely my favorite now. 10 is a very close second, though. Not sure how I feel about 12 yet. I'm not sure how much of my opinion of him is based off of his interactions with Clara. Like she's tainted my opinion of him. I don't inherently dislike Clara, but she's a lackluster character, especially following the Ponds. I resent her for stomping all over the Doctor's regeneration and whining about him being old. She tries to steal the show in such a way, that I feel I haven't gotten to really know 12 yet. But here's hoping!
Still can't get over the Adipose, they are so cute!~

That's how I felt about Clara in a lot of ways. It felt like for a good while that most of the focus was on her to the point where it seemed like she was meant to be the main character. It just felt off and overburdening to me.
My favorite was Eleven/Matt Smith... until John Hurt as the War Doctor popped up. He's by far my favorite now. I wish there was more of him to be honest, aside from the 50th/episode prior, even if it was just audio dramas.
At first I really disliked Capaldi as well, most likely due to the Clara thing taking away from him but... after the speech he gave in the Zygon Inversion episode, he totally won me over. He's brilliant, when allowed to actually shine.
