so ten years ago today, Katrina hit pretty much my favorite city in the universe. I know Subeta doesn't always do free gifts for everything (totally understandable,and the ones we do get are darned amazing, don't get me wrong!), and also there are quite a few Mardi Gras items already, and a holiday that bears a steampunky resemblance to the holiday Nola is known for, but there are only two fleur de lis items on the site, and idk, it'd be cool to have like a fleur de lis necklace, or a french quarter background, or a wearable steam boat, or beignets, or a cajun food shop (mouth=watering) with beignets and crawfish and gumbo and fried gator and blackened EVERYTHING. I feel a bit like an ingrate posting this right after such a fun and beautiful plot, but idk, some things honoring this city and its people and its recovery would be totally cool by me. :) Love you, Subeta, thanks for reading! <3 Edit: I feel like NPC Pete could totally get behind this idea for some reason... I think making a tribute item to the 10 year anniversay would lead to more requests for anniversary tributes.

like I said, I don't expect a "tribute" item, per se, but still more cajun items generally honoring the culture and the area....like I said, we only have two lonely lil fleur de lis items..... plus, ya know, cajun food= yummm :) edit kbbob I've never had one, but a sonoran hot dog sounds/looks amazing!!!

I can get behind more cajun food items, I'm sure people who feed to their pet would appreciate more foods, and I do like cajun flavors (though I don't do seafood) I don't see any reason to say no to more food on the site :)

sonoran hot dogs are not bad, bacon wrapped hot dogs with a bun that's like a pouch to fit the hot dog in, then jalapenos mayo or something like that. I don't really like beans on mine but they usually have beans on them. probably has onions and a few other things too. it's really the only thing Tucson has that is unique/what we're known for.

I'd like a rerelease of the Katrina memorial things we had. That's it. Food items don't have to be linked to the Katrina theme, we need more food items altogether.

Yes, we all think where our heart is the best place in the universe, but Subeta cannot honor every cool Earth place. That'd be boring.

I'd like a release of more Cajun food items because more food is always good, but Katrina happened 10 years ago and as Sopheroo already stated we already have remembrance items released for it. I don't really see a point of releasing an entire set of new items when items were already released for it when it occurred. If they were re-released though that'd be fine.

Masquerade has replaced Mardi Gras on purpose, to make the site be less connected to real life events/things. So no support for more Mardi Gras or Nola items. Alegarten and the ball produce the similar items that are consistent with Subetan lore and you could whip up a dixie band with all the new instruments we have now.

That said maybe start a thread in Items to suggest your favorite Cajun foods? That suggestion I would support. I think some of your items have been part of Collections or CS sets already though.

The hotdog sounds pretty tasty, I wonder if they use elote sauce? The bun for a sonoran dog is a bolillo, which we also need. Torpedo rolls you'd have to unstuff the middle bread in order to get the hotdog in there. Is this item street food to go into Quick Bites or is it special event stuff to go into Carnival, ?

Street food, we have a few food trucks that sell them but we also have full restaurants that sell them.

I've only been on subeta for 3 years, so I missed the "katrina items" apparently, but like I keep saying I think it could be fun to have even broader "southern" or cajun food and things, would LOVE a steam boat wearable of some sort, and unless I'm missing it (I did check on subetalodge), there isn't one already, or any/all of the food things I suggested, or more fluer de lis wearables. I prefaced my first post by saying I'm NOT requesting a tribute item lol! We do have many items honoring, in one way or another, without being actual tribute items, places/movies/characters/books/writers/etc etc. OOOOooo! If they bring back the food trucks, could just add a southern-themed food truck! On a side note, does anybody know which collection.surprise bag thing the original "katrina items" were released under so I can look em up and educate myself? TIA :) edit: I could see a little bit of overlap with shadowglen, maybe, like a marie laveua-themed restaurant? could be fun!
