-If this does not belong here then lock it if you please-

So a friend of mine is having a little baby boy, and for her baby shower instead of cards she wants everyone to bring their favorite children's book. She wants her son to love books as much as she does

I cannot ever remember my parents reading to me as a child; however, my Great Grandma always read to me when I stayed at her house.. She did not have much of a selection when I was little, but my favorite was "Where, Oh Where, Is Kipper's Bear?" by Mick Inkpen. It is a pop-out and light up books. Sadly my book has seen better days, but I was thinking about getting my friend a version of this book.

What are your favorite children's books?

Novel is a huge simp for Dick Gayson and Jason Todd. They deserve better!

((is looking for art for that states this opinion))

Aw, that is so sweet.

For kid books, I loved "The Three Little Kittens" by Lorianne Siomades, as well as most of Eric Carle's books, especially "Animals, Animals" and "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?".

PIPPI LONGSTOCKING I borrowed the big book of her stories from the library at least twice a year even before I could read. I always picked her.

I also really liked Amelia Bedilia and anything that featured cute animals (especially kittens :3 ). The old Bernstein Bears books were really awesome. I actually haven't seen the old old ones on the shelves in a while though and the newer ones don't seem to be as fun. They seem more forcefully educational rather than 'learn by their actions not by us lecturing you.' Though of course I'm biased because I haven't actually seen the old ones in a while.

Oh and Madeline. AND THE VELVETEEN RABBIT D: And...

Stop me before I go look up all the books I used to read. Please. I have such a list. I had so many. Literally two full bookshelves. They were my favorite things in the whole world. Reading was always the best thing.

An EXTREMELY good book to get (that I had as a youngster and am getting for my children as soon s I find it it somewhere) is called Unlovable. And it's got a picture of a pug on the front.

Charlie and the Chocolate factory and Matilda by Roald Dahl. Then Howl's Moving Castle and The Lives of Christopher Chant by Diana Wynne Jones.
