Plagued Male Experiment . Basic stats.

Ohhh. That's actually really intriguing. I kind of want to make a character, maybe a post-apoc type thing but someone who's more suffering from being alone than anything

I used to have a character who might fit whose dad was a radio dj and right before everything went down he heard that song on a boombox and when he went kinda nutty he carried his boombox around and he would 'listen' to the song.

I'm not entirely sure what I'd do with him right off the bat, since it usually takes me a while to develop my characters, but I have been role playing with my friend in a post-apocalyptic plot setting. Basically, the main idea for the time period is post-war (though futuristic)... the government decided to "test" out towns with drugs that would make people bloodthirsty and violent if something were done against them. It made war easier.. tick them off and then point the finger and suddenly you don't just have a town of people, you have a town of soldiers. However, this also meant the people were likely to turn on whoever bothered them first.. meaning it could be a family member, a neighbor, or the government officials trying to fill their minds with lies. The experiments ended horribly and things fell to chaos.

Aside from the experiments on intellectual subjects were also those performed on the lower classes.. sentient beings like animals who didn't have much of a say in what was going on in the world around them. One such experiment is my pet Skullface - aptly named because his face is exactly that: a skull. He was a canine cross-breed that the government was attempting to train into war hounds. The idea was that while not particularly armored, they would not sustain injury in the same manner as normal flesh-and-blood mammals. However, the results weren't quite what they were looking for. The healing process slowed due to the immune system being artificially increased, resulting in necrotic tissue over the injured parts of the body. The necrotic areas, while not seeming to affect the health of the individual, do make them pretty unsightly. A band of them, given the nickname "Skullface" for their appearance, ended up getting out of a lab and thus my character was born.

Plagued's history would be similar to Skullface's, in that he was the result of a government experiment gone awry. I think it would be fun to play around with the idea of actual plagues.. perhaps creatures born with immunity to disease but certainly the ability to spread it. You see it already in the animal kingdom in the form of parasites and some mammals such as the common brown bat which can carry and spread rabies but which do not die from the rabies themselves (unlike other mammals who when infected usually have less than a month to live). It would be interesting to play him as a social creature who WANTS to interact with the living, but has to be careful because of his ability to spread disease, perhaps in the way fluid transfer or some sort of spore carried in his fur. He could be social from afar but have trouble interacting up close for fear of accidentally infecting people - therefor being plagued not only in a literal sense, but also figuratively with his inability to socialize normally. His mindset would most likely be similar to Skull's, knowing exactly what he is and what he was made for, but not caring much as he hadn't consented to any of the experiments he was subject to. Not that he wouldn't of played his part in the war.. when you're told the other side is trying to kill you and that the easiest way to protect yourself and those you love is to run rampant through their cities spreading your plague, it's likely you'll follow orders...

Currently, the crew we role play are survivors of the time.. homeless in a sense because no where is really considered safe. They've sort of banded together to survive the insanity that their area has become. So it would give Plagued the option of being a conflicting character, or a good guy looking to join their team (Skull was a baddie turned good.. sort of. He works for whoever is going to feed him and watch his back).

Anyway.. the idea would certainly need to be developed on, but I feel like I could totally work with the name. :) It fits so well into the world my friend and I have already built up!
