Oh man I am not remotely experienced at this type of hair at ALL, but I can say that the reference seems to have a lot darker shadows to kind of make the hair in the front / top stand out more? I think your wig could really benefit from that. That way it feels less like one 'clump' and more like naturally falling locks of hair.

Here are some extra pictures I found that MAY help? IDK bows LINK LINK

Noting that ! Those two reference pictures are more defined than what I was going for, although I do think I might work in some defined curls to see if it'd help out. I saved so many pictures before even attempting

I really more so linked them for their drastic shading because I know seeing more drastic shading helps me figure out what I'm doing! Please feel free to ping me more, and I'll attempt to give my best advice / assistance. hehe.

Oooh ! That can help, but it did not click, ahaha... I blame being tired. I did some editing + added some lines and added it to my first post. But now I have to run out the door. o-o

There is so much detail going on, I'm not 100% sure I know how to officially help with this. Oh man xD Right now I do think it's looking good / better. What I personally would do for something like this is a bit of inner line art at the places it's the darkest, and probably a bit higher contrast shading since right now (at least to me) it's kind of hard to distinguish the full shape / volume.

I do tend to put too much detail and then have to minimize it, but then very textured hair sorta relies on detail ! I am going to see if I can work on it some more in a minute.

Oh man do I feel you there. I can't count how many times I've went 'this looks A+' and then resized like 'wow this absolutely looks like shit now. Gee thanks.' xD

Edited a little bit but yeah, I'm probably going to redo the entire thing at this point. o-o When I added the lines I started getting much less happy with it. And then my self-doubt caught up and I want to erase it.

I'm not having like, the best evening so I don't know if this will make sense / help any But I kind of feel like maybe the problem is TOO many details? Like I think it would be fine if some of the areas had less detail, and some had more, to make those parts stick out more?

I wish I could make like, a redline or something, and I could try if you wanted me to, but to be honest I don't know if I'm capable or of any real use.

I know absolutely nothing, but what I'm noticing is that your curl-to-volume ratio is a lot smaller than your reference. Looking at that picture, I can very clearly follow at least some of the model's strands of hair from her crown to the tip, while other areas are less clear - I think that's because individual hairs align with each other to form more clearly distinguished strands, while others don't align and are therefore "blend together" more, like the hair in your drawing. Does that make sense?

So I tried to take this into account, I SWEAR. And I am not sure how well I did trying to do detail, but not too much, but also having some places more detailed, and my head hurts. It always does but ssshhh Revemp (This is still not the final color this particular wig will be, it will be more auburn)

That looks so incredibly much better at this point! C: Honestly the only thing right now that looks a little off (and this is just a personal preference) is all the little stray hairs. Maybe if some of them were black, or maybe there were a few less? But right now it just looks a bit off.

I plan on lessening the amount, at least the ones around the mouth (I like the ones around the rest of the head + the ones around the eye). I can see how some black lines will look, too. Though I am not sure if I will post anymore versions of this unless I am told to make bigger alterations :p

Sounds good! If you decide to take slots on this once you've picked colors, pretty please ping me P: I am probably going to want slots! Especially if you do more than one color. hehe.

I'll try to remember to do that if it's ever officially finished ! The auburn color is an OC design, so it may be more expensive/limited/private. Recolors may occur if enough people let me know they're interested.

The colors will be offered in the same as my butterfly wig ! Which is why I started out with the orange color, it makes it easy for me to get to the various colors.

Then I'd probably be most interested in the colors from the first in each row =O! (Solid brown and then brown w/ red) But who knows, seeing it in other colors may make me change my mind C:

Oops, I meant to note that I may not do the ombres with it, just solid colors ! But actually, ombres would be so nifty on this kind of hair. ... Now I want to do it in every color and every type of ombre. QnQ
