I watched the candle burn so low that the flame was no larger than the end of a match. It put off almost no light, making it useless. My best friend stood beside me with tears in his eyes. There was so much loss and bloodshed tonight. So much more than necessary. Through all of it I realized that there was no reason for me to be angry with him. The friend that had pushed me when I was about to give up, the man that had mentored me in all I asked, and most of all, the brother who grew up with me and shared the same pain as I. No matter the circumstances he was there for me. Even when I had accidentally killed another he stood by side without question. He stood loyal by my side because he knows who I really am. He knew would never do such a thing with the intention to hurt someone. It was life or death, and he knew that without even asking. So what kind of a friend, a man, or a brother am I to judge him in a way he would never even think of to judge me? How low did that make me? Guilt flooded the pit of my stomach. I looked over at him, the innocent man still stood by side. This time his gaze was far off and lost in his tears. I could see all the glares he'd received, all the accusations made to his face, all the whispers behind his back. I could see, hear, and feel all his pain through his eyes. And now here we are, standing there uselessly as all the damage is done. Three friends lost right before our eyes. And we stand. A killer on the loose.... And we stand. A rift breaking between us..... And yet we stand. Everything was falling apart
I'm not exactly sure where I'm going with this.. Any ideas? Please? lol
Hello! Your story sounds like the beginning of a crime story to me. Since you have no concrete idea where to go, maybe you can write about how they try to escape the police together. Or was it someone else who killed the people? Than they could try to catch the killer.
After reading your short introduction I have a few questions. Maybe answering them for yourself can help you to find your way. Why should Spero be angry with his friend when he did not kill the one lying there? Was it Sparo who killed the other friends? How can the friend not be angry, when Spero killed three of their friends? How can this happen by accident? How does their relationship change after this scene? Where do they go? Do they go together? Was it someone else who killed them? Why? Is there any type of magic involved?
Altogether the paragraph left me a little confused. Why is there a candle? Is this necessary when it has no use in the scene?
My English is not good enough to give you detailed advise with grammar and words, but I noticed a few things.
Oh, and just because I cannot not mention this:
Hope this was helpful!
