Guess what? The downstairs neighbours are at it again! I called the police on them (AGAIN) last night. The music was loud and going from 5:30pm to 8pm. I even banged on the floor with my broom handle and that did nothing. I got sick and tired at that point, I called the police. Two hours later, the music stopped. I called the police back and asked if anyone responded to my call and they said "no", so I had to cancel it. The night before last night (Friday), I got home from work at 11pm. I showered and headed for bed. At 11:30pm, I heard this loud crashing noise from outside (my window was open). I thought it was a bear, so I tried to fall asleep. I heard it again and again. They were throwing and moving things inside their trailer (the one that you rent to move things with). This lasted until 12am and I finally shouted out my window "There shouldn't be any bing bang booming out here at this time!" I didn't hear anything after that.

I tried calling my landlord (I called him twice this month about my neighbours and twice in May, once in June and July) and he isn't answering his phone (surprise). He told me he'd give them a "final warning" the last time I had called. Evict them already!

Waiting for the police around here is like waiting for the pope to preform a miracle. Every time I call the police, the music stops because they take so long to respond to my calls.

Ugh, I feel your pain. I have neighbors like that as well, except we live in a manufactured home community. The community manager really needs to evict my neighbors' dumb asses already too. They make way too much noise at night, they have 6 dogs in their house (we're allowed 2), there are 6 or 8 people living there, their children (ranging in age from 7? to teenagers) run around the neighborhood wreaking havoc and being noisy as all hell, everyone knows (and most have seen) them smoking weed, their dogs get loose all the time, they park their shitty vehicles in the street (not allowed to park in the street and vehicles are to be kept in good condition, so that's a twofer), their yard is kept in shitty condition (weeds tall and everywhere, not to mention the piles of dog shit), etc. The cops are there so often, at least once a week, I really do not understand why they haven't been kicked out already. I think all of us other neighbors would have a bigass party if they got kicked out.

I called the city and spoke to bylaw and reported them yesterday. Today, I followed up on my call and my complaint was not entered the system!! The bylaw officer I spoke to today entered my complaint in the system and said the bylaw officer that's assigned to my area will contact me.

I hope so...

I hope the system works for you. The police in my area are quite fond of giving 'warnings'. Warnings which do no good because they're only ever followed up with another warning.

What a lovely display of utter municipal incompetence! I hope it settles soon.
