Alrighty, so I've got the minion trap and minion repellent locked in my inventory so that nothing bad will happen to them.
Today is my friend's birthday, and they want a trap and repellent as well, so I bought another of each and sent them to him through the Gift Center.
But when I went to my inventory to see what was in there to put in my shop, I noticed that the minion trap was still in my inventory, which I was very confused about because the Gift Center TOLD ME it sent. But then I looked down to my locked items... and my locked minion trap was gone. Which means that the gift center took my locked minion trap and left the unlocked one behind.
That seems pretty bad, I think. If I hadn't gone to my inventory just then, who knows how long it would have taken me to notice? A random event could have come and taken it away. Can you imagine? If those stupid lizard minions had come and stolen my trap? Ohhh I'd have been livid.
But either way. Glad that didn't happen. But this situation shouldn't be able to happen to begin with, so I'm posting it here.
random events don't take items away any more, but yeah, this is still a potentially bad bug.
its a weird glitch where if you have the same thing in your inventory it sends the opposite one(it does it even if you send the item via the send to buddy option from the item itself) I honestly wish they could fix it, but I'm not even sure its a fixable one.
I think the same thing still happens with trades and genetech combos. It's annoying.

I think the reasoning was that locked items can't be impacted by unintentional things(like a bad zap or the previous Rogue) but can still be used intentionally.
This sounds like an issue that wasn't thought of when they made it that way.
I'm pretty certain this isn't a "bug" and the locked items intentionally show up there. You're more than welcome to ask for them to change it in the Suggestions & Ideas forum (I believe there's a thread there already). I personally like that they show up, so I don't lose any precious gifts between purchasing them and sending them out. Though, it'd be nice if someplace explained more thoroughly where the lock does and does not work - Ariel and Amber have been working on this kind of thing.
When you use an item (from your inventory, through the lab, gift center, etc.) it's probably set up to take the first copy that was added to your inventory, which is why the locked one was used over the unlocked one.
but I didn't see two copies of each, I only saw the ones that I had most recently bought. And while I've had MY copies for months now, I had just bought the two I had meant to send to my friend just that same day.
Oh, I just checked and the gift center doesn't normally show locked items.. hmm. I'll see if the programmers can make some adjustments so it won't send a locked copy of an item.
if you empty your inventory of everything except the locked items, you'll see they do not show up for gifts. So this really is a bug :/
Edit: late post lol, sorry about that
thanks for checking into it!
thanks for the backup. :) I have a hard time explaining myself properly sometimes so it's always nice when others can come help me out.
No problem! I am the same way, sometimes I think I am perfectly clear but I make no sense to anyone else.
thanks for looking into this :)
