For Gryffindor, and are joining us for another term! For Slytherin, our new Prefects are and ! For Ravenclaw, is returning for another term with joining her! For Hufflepuff, both and are joining us again!

We're really appreciative of all the Prefects and all of their help!

July 30th, 2016 Hello all! The start of the Fourth Term is FINALLY HERE (and is ending November 5th)!!

Throughout the weekend, we'll be posting activities and classes for you to participate! We're really hoping you all put your best foot forward and make this the best term yet.

As you all saw yesterday, we've brought on Gaia as a new Head Girl. Since that's the case, we've had a bit of a house shift amongst the admins. Gaia will continue to earn points for Ravenclaw, while Italia has moved to Slytherin for this term.

Unfortunately, we did not have a very big turn out for Club Captain positions this term. However, I am very pleased to announce those that have been selected for clubs this term!

Captains, you may now make your club threads at any time. :) Please remember to label whether your club is a roleplay or a discussion.

As you can see, I'll personally be heading up the Book Club this time around. Since Harry Potter and the Cursed Child comes out tomorrow and I'm sure most of you will be reading it anyway, we will be covering that book this time around! I will have a spoilers label on the topic just in case for those who are not looking to be spoiled!

Just a reminder, since the new term has started, we are no longer accepting requests for change of house until the Fourth Term is over. At that time, you'll be able to submit an sMail with the house you'd like to change to and your reason for changing.

July 9th, 2016 Hey everybody! Sorry you haven't heard from us lately. We are really enjoying a much needed break! But since we are getting closer to our next start date, I wanted to take care of a few housekeeping items.

We will be reorganizing our forums a bit in the next couple of days. Since we now have the ability to rename our forums, accompanied with us being able to make full use of the House specific ping groups, we will be disbanding the roleplay ping group and be moving the roleplay threads to what is currently The Common Rooms. Common Room RP threads and bullentin boards will be moving to the House ping groups. The Club threads will be staying in the forum with the roleplay threads, as most of them are roleplay based as well.

Club captain tryouts will be going up either today or tomorrow. I apologize that this didn't go up sooner. Quite honestly, I forgot that I had set a date for them to go up! So if you're interested in running a club next term, keep an eye out for the tryouts.

Just a reminder, if you would like to change houses before the upcoming term, you need to submit an sMail to me before July 30th! Please let me know your reason for moving. Most reasons will be approved; however if it seems many people are moving to one house in order to better their chances at winning, the requests to move may be denied.

Last, but not least, I am hoping to be able to devote a little more time to developing our Quidditch system in the near future. With that said, I am going to need some volunteers to help with a test match. If you'd be interested in playing, no matter what House you are in, please sMail me with what position you'd like to play. I am unsure when this test game will take place, but I will give more details when we get to that point.

June 19th, 2016 We have decided to start the Fourth Term on July 30th. This should give everyone a chance to recharge their batteries, so we can start the next term strong! Please note that clubs from the Third Term are allowed to run until the next term starts. Applications for Club Captains will be going up next week. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask!

Ravenclaw! .... AND SLYTHERIN!

The House Cup standings were as follows: 1st - Ravenclaw - 2,835 2nd - Slytherin - 2,748 3rd - Hufflepuff - 2,313 4th - Gryffindor - 2,077

And our top three scorers for this term are as follows: 1st - poppet - Slytherin - 437 points! 2nd - Garnet - Ravenclaw - 410 points! 3rd - Megu - Hufflepuff- 403 points!

WOW, you guys!! This was a ridiculously close term for Ravenclaw and Slytherin. For those of you not wanting to do the math, it's an 87 point difference! I was holding my breath counting up the points! We were really impressed with the effort put out by both houses; we decided that while Ravenclaw technically won the House Cup, prizes will be awarded to both Ravenclaw and Slytherin houses. Congratulations to both houses, and I hope you continue to put in such awesome effort!

Prizes are expected to go out this weekend.

May 18th, 2016 Hello everyone! Thanks to everyone's feedback, we have decided to make a policy change regarding special abilities. Instead of holding tryouts every term to fill an assigned number of slots per special ability, each member is now allowed to have one special ability at a time. This means that if you roleplay a character, they are only allowed to have one special ability. If you have multiple characters, only one of your characters may have a special ability. However, if you choose to retire a character (and have it removed from the Student Roster), you can then create a new character with a different special ability.

There is one stipulation to the policy change. If you choose a special ability that was on the previous list of special abilities (animagus, centaur, empath, ghost, legilimens, metamorphmagus, occlumens, part-fae, part-giant, part-veela, part-mermaid, parselmouth, seer, werewolf), you may do so freely without approval from the admins. However, if you create a new special ability not on this list, it must be submitted to either or myself for approval. We are really looking forward to seeing some creativity from you guys!

Please keep in mind we will be monitoring how many users create characters with special abilities, and if it appears that the new policy leads to a large saturation of special abilities, we may have to reassess again.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns with the new policy! I'd be happy to answer them.

March 6th, 2016 Just a heads up, we have changed the settings for the forum group so that Admins Only can ping wizarding. This was done in an effort to keep pings for CWs to the wizcws group only. If you ever have an instance where you need to ping the main group (i.e. for clubs, etc.) please let either myself, or know.

March 5th, 2016 Good morning, wizards and wizettes! The Third Term has now begun!

Get ready for the influx of activities and class lessons that are to come! We're pretty excited to get this term started, especially since we are FINALLY really (really) ready to kick off group activities. The first one should be starting in a few weeks.

March 4th, 2016 Hi all! The third term starts tomorrow! Hooray!

Before it does, I just have a couple of announcements that need to be made.

First! This upcoming term brings us some new Prefects yet again. Staying with us for another term is poppet from Slytherin, Elune from Ravenclaw, and Rox from Gryffindor. Joining them this term are some new faces! Turokai will be joining poppet as Slytherin Prefect. Garnet is our new Ravenclaw Prefect. Joining Rox is Paddy for Gryffindor! Last but not least, Alewiina and Megu (formerly Sexy) are our new Hufflepuff Prefects! Italia is staying on as Head Girl for another term (and we hope she keeps continuing to work with us).

Second! Club Captains for the third term are as follows:

Garnet - Book Club Captain Raven - Care of Magical Creatures Club Captain Gaia - Divination Club and Herbology Club Captain Sabrina - Art Club Captain Italia - Potions Club Captain and Quidditch Club Captain

If anyone is looking to change houses for the next term, please sMail me with a brief explanation as to why you'd like to switch! Most reasons will be approved, but if it seems like a lot of members are switching to be in Houses that earn more points, we will not be approving them!

Gryffindor has mentioned that she will be opening up a few more Special Ability slots over the break, and I'll be opening up Club Captain applications as well. So get your ideas ready if you plan on applying for either. Good luck!

February 6th, 2016 Hello all! Since there's only one week left in the term, it's time for some housekeeping items! First and foremost, remember that all of your class assignments are due the last day of term, Saturday, February 13th at 11:59PM!

We will also be reopening some of the HA challenges this afternoon, which will also be due next Saturday at the end of term.

I also wanted to apologize for the ball points not being tallied up yet! I dropped the ball on that one, my bad! I am hoping to complete counting everything up this weekend, if not today. Once the HA contest ends tonight and everything is added up, the points will then be added to the term tally.

Lastly, the term break. I know last time we only took a 2 week break... However, due to personal reasons, the other admins and I have decided that the break between terms this time will be 3 weeks. This means that the next term will be starting the weekend of March 5th. I'm unsure what day it will be exactly yet, but I will let you all know once it's decided.

January 31st, 2016 I just wanted to apologize for my absence yesterday. Something came up work and I wasn't able to make it online. Since that's the case, I'll be extending the ball until Tuesday, February 2nd at 11:59pm to everyone a chance to complete the challenges. One more will be posted this afternoon/evening, so keep an eye out!

January 23rd, 2016 Hi everybody! I am sorry for all of the pings today, but I am SO EXCITED to announce that the forum group forum creation feature has FINALLY BEEN FIXED! This means that over the next day or so, I'll be converting all of the House forum groups to Invite Only and inviting all the current members to their respective House groups. I'll be doing this so that everyone can participate in the group activities I've had planned for quite some time! I'm really excited that we'll finally be able to do this! With the end of term coming up, however, most likely we will only have one group activity before break. But next term should be an all new ball game!

Thanks for this. I never liked how # wizarding was getting pinged for anything non-cult related. Similarly, the # wizarding ping was used for a non-HP chat thread. Is there a chance that it could not?

alright. I just wanted to give you a head's up in case you missed it. I don't know how many pings you get daily but it felt really strange that a general non-cult thread was pinged using the tag.

Thanks for creating a new group for CWs. :) I believe that the wizarding ping for the non-cult thread was accidental. I was going to suggest making rules for pinging but I see that you already did that. :)
