This is how I see my HA:

It's not only the skin, but also the mouth and the blush which are grey. (Delish Tea Lip Gloss and Dainty Moondust Body Blush.)

If I go to the wardrobe, both skin and the wearable items look normal. But not on the dashboard or on the boards. :S I can see all the other players with a normal skin, except for myself. :S

There's a few different random events, and they all say something about suddenly feeling very tired. After you get it, your HA turns greyish. My HA changed, but I didn't see my actual RE (being an RE they're easy to miss unfortunately :/ )

People that look normal probably just haven't gotten theirs yet (or it could be a matter of hard refreshing, I've noticed that my HA on the forums takes longer to update than the HA on my sidebar)

I didn't notice any REs like that, but I miss REs quite often. LOL! Thank you very much for your help, now it makes sense (also the fact that you look grey as well!)!

I was a bit miffed that my pink was suddenly..not so pink. Thought it was another wardrobe glitch. A friend of mine got a random event and suddenly a black blob appeared in her HA. lol

I already had a filter on my HA too so I'm extra grey xD But you're welcome! c:
