My memory is not so great. For the life of me I can't remember how much and what types of damage/defense my different weapons and scrolls do - and I don't even have many yet. When I choose to battle a challenger and have to select my weapons, I am unable to mouse over them and get any details on what they do. Likewise, when I'm in battle I cannot see what the weapons or scrolls do. This is incredibly frustrating and I don't understand the reason for it. Is this a browser issue? I'm using Chrome. Or just poor design (sorry developers!)? Is there any way around this? If not, how does everyone else remember what all their stuff does without looking it up a million times on SubetaLodge or such?
ehh if you have the scrolls or weapons in your set, you may want to know what they do. you can hover over them both in the armory and the scroll library, but not in battle.
most people have staples in their set, a few weapons that attack, a designated healing weapon, a freezer, maybe some defensive weapons, and maybe a bomb. then they just memorize which do which. it's part of the fun of battling really. Scrolls are the same way I don't know if adding hovers to actual battling would be good for the loading speed.
Also, don't trust subetalodge for weapon stats. The Weapon Guide thread and the Scroll Guide thread are much more accurate.
Sigh Thanks.
I for one would be willing to sacrifice a small amount of speed to see what my items do. My memory problems are a result of health issues and unlikely to get much better. You think I could petition for a handicap option maybe? LOL. I like Subeta, but some of their design decisions leaving me shaking my head and wondering why it has to be so frustrating. I shouldn't have to refer to other sites or pages to see what I'm using in battle. In my opinion, it's bad design. However, maybe I can just screenshot all the weapons and scrolls I use and put them in a single reference document. That might be the best workaround for now...but I don't have to like it!
Stomps off
Grumble, grumble, grumble. :P
The thing with battling though is that you need to do research ahead of time to have a good set for a specific battle. If you don't know what your weapons do in battle, you aren't prepared. There is a lot of learning that has to be done to feel comfortable battling, which I think discourages a lot of people. You will pick it up after doing it awhile though :)
I may not know 100% what every weapons I own does (or maybe I do) but I have an at least vague idea that basically this one will freeze, this one will block damage, this one will heal, and according to where I'm at in the battle, I'll just use whatever feels right.
It's not harder than remember what a fork, knife and spoon do. Or what a food tastes like, if it's sweet or salty. Your brain is a muscle that improves when it gets exercised. You wouldn't use a knife to eat your soup - I wouldn't use a healer when I'm already healed. It comes down to the same thing.
