I hope I put this in the right category....

I found a pet name belonging to an inactive account that I would like to take for the bumbus I plan to adopt but when I try to adopt it a message comes up that says the name is already taken. However, on the pet page it says the name is available to be taken... I wouldn't care except that there are no bumbus elixirs so I can't just name a regular breed by the name I want and then change it into a bumbus :/

You can turn your pet into a Bumbus if you get a quest for the Queen (unfortunately that's RE-based so yeah the inactive name issue should be fixed)

You know, Ive never clicked on her and luckily, I must have gotten a quest event from her a long time ago!!! I can get my bumbus!

Either way though, I hope they can fix it for someone who might not be so lucky...

aside from getting the queen quest you can also get a bumbus from zapping. That's how I received mine (Stymie).

And maybe the name was not yet released even though it said it was? I can see how that'd be frustrating.

No, it definitely happens with available pet names (I want to say I've heard you get the same error with a Steamworks pet? But I've never made one so I don't know). You can go from the Bumbus page with the error straight to the regular pet creation page and create a pet successfuly with the same name

I'm not saying that it didn't or doesn't happen; as I'm sure it does though I've yet to encounter the issue myself. I was just suggesting that perhaps the problem is some sort of glitch when it comes time to hand over the name. And I have no idea about it happening with Steamwork pets either, as I have yet to create one myself.

Though I was under the impression that you could create a bum bus with any pet you have on hand if you receive the Queen's quest request. However, I might be wrong about that.

I'm just saying that it's not an issue with the name not being marked cleared yet, as it works for creating regular pets. Bumbii are created somewhere separate, that's probably where the issue is.

But yes if you get a quest for the Queen you can turn any pet into a Bumbus; but you have to already have your pet created first
