Heyo, I'm raus and I spend all of my time on Mycena Cave and I lurk on Flight Rising. Things are so different here, but I kept seeing Subeta float around as I was trying to find new petsites last year and I joined on a whim today. I'm not sure if this is the kind of thing I'm looking for, but I'm willing to try anything that offers a lot of things for me to do when I'm bored. (Heh I actually decided because some random person I saw had a nicely done profile and my Gaia/Neopet nostalgia surfaced lmao)

I write, crochet, knit, and do other creative stuff. I'm super into characters and plotting, and I roleplay on Mycena. I like pretty purple things and jellyfish. I'm a university student studying languages, learning Japanese and Korean.

It depends what kind of petsite you're after

If you want to go and build characters, this is actually a pretty interesting place to do so. The ability for custom overlays, the pet profiles customisation and such makes this very fun

Yeah, I've sampled what I think of as "big" sites like this and Aywas and, gosh maybe Eldemore?? I've never stayed because of the focus on avatars, but I thought this one looked like the focus is on the pets you have, not just collecting any and all pets? Is there any sort of consensus that the pets should be treated as pet characters and not humanized characters? I ran into this with Digis recently. Not a big detractor but it's nice to know. -shrugs-

Haha yeah, same with knitting. I used to (well, still do) have a love hate relationship with knitting because I started with crochet and I've kind of learned the one you start with is your thing. I still knit though, since I kind of need to for some things, but I can do so much with crochet. I hate sewing with a passion and I'm so bad at it though. Thanks for the welcome!

It's been a long time since I was on Neopets wow. I've heard about their recent troubles and I guess it helped make me curious when I stumbled across Subeta again. Thank you!

Whatever you do with your pet is up to you, and you alone. Some people RP them as humans, some RP them as animals. In my case, my pets are the foundation for an alt universe lore, so they're neither Demis, nor are they humans. They're something else

The pet npcs are implied to have a form of human-like sentience, yes. Babette, who is in charge of one of the inns, plus a food shop, is an Anyu, a giant of large bear, but she has sentience and intelligence.

Others, like the Ruffie from the Ruffie Raffle, are said to just be pets, with an owner and all.

I've gotta say, there are already features popping up that I'm rather fond of, like the sidebar and theme customization. The clothing item popups are nice to have too. (Also a notepad??? I need that on every site wow)

That's nice. I've gotten used to that with Mycena Cave, so having artistic liberty might be another incentive to stick around and feel the place out. It's interesting about the differing amounts of sentience. I'm assuming humans are a big part of the canon of the site? Actually I haven't seen any other interaction after Sarah poofed away at the end of the tutorial. Does the site have events that play around with storyline or are events just like updates instead?
