anyone here into starbound? man, i. no matter what i say im gonna end up understating how much i play starbound. i've got the most logged hours on it out of any other games i have on steam. tell me about your characters! or tell me about your ships! or tell me about whatever it is you like to do in it! by no means do you have to read what i've written below. it's all my personal things about starbound. feel free to share your own.

for those of you curious, starbound is a sidescrolling scifi sandbox game! it's one of my personal favorites. if you know of terrarria, well, starbound is like terrarria but in space and better. if you havent heard of terrarria, well, it's like minecraft, but sidescrolling.

though it may have shown through a bit in my questions... i personally get really invested in my characters! and in their ships and designs and individual aesthetics! my first character is a novakid named din diox. i have to admit i really hate novakid ships because they take so long to navigate. that's my only beef, but it is a big one. anyways, din's orange with a heart-shaped brand, and his thing is kinda varied! he likes glitch architecture, and also really likes the standard titanium and such furnitures! he loves plants and flowers and keeps grown specimens of every kind of harvestable plant (sans coconut and thorn fruit) and, before the most recent update, had so many pets and cats on board (all put in place by other people, so they wouldn't follow me everywhere). he collects EVERYTHING he might EVER need, and many things he knows he never will. at the moment he uses a big two-handed saber! and/or a rocket launcher. and ignoring armor, his clothing of choice is a plaid button up and suspenders. what a nerd. he started building half a wood cabin on the homeworld, and succeeded in creating a flimsy wall, a staircase up the flimsy wall, a platform at the top of the staircase, and a novakid flag proudly displaying the inattention and spontaneity of novakids. my second character is awn, a floran. she hasn't progressed very far, but she's a kind young lady and tends to decorate and behave in a very sophisticated manner, but be a complete asshole in a very sophisticated manner. she uses spears to keep people at a distance and have room for maneuvering, showing off, and banter. she's green, and has a red rose for hair, and i would probably date her even if she had very sharp teeth. she doesn't really collect anything. she's very forward-minded and very streamlined in her practices. what she wears is usually a tank top to show off her beautiful leaves and . i dunno. pants. my third character is a glitch named jazz, who's dark w/ the pointy ear antennae things and blue lights/eyes. he loves music and may or may not just be the character jazz from transformers. anyways, he's all about dark backgrounds and chill blue lights, all over the place. loves traditional glitch style, but with a few more future-minded modifications. when it comes to combat and strategy, he's all about going fast and getting in and out without a scratch. he uses a shield and shortsword, and collects alllllll kinds of decorative items, even if they're ugly. prefers to look very fancy, like he's going on an interview when he's collecting fuel (which is probably for decoration over use). my fourth and latest character is phio the hylotl. she's a monk who became a pirate, and she uses a shield and dagger, and is very evasive. she has white skin, but most of her is aqua blue. she has long tentacle hair, and she is terrifying and adorable. she's an explorer, like REALLY an explorer, and keeps few personal belongings for herself, BUT, despite being a pirate and wanderlusting explorer, has built an entire little starting-out place on the homeworld right around the spawn point. (i often host a server for my friends, and i love the idea). her main thing that she does, other than stocking it with supplies like weapons and food, is collect, and display in the starting castle, bugs. bugs from all over the universe. she also cooks, and farms, in a manner different than din, who preserved instead of used. phio makes all sorts of creations and more often than not ends up shoving them in a fridge in the castle or force feeding them to her crab. she literally just wears pirate clothes, and i love her.

so yea! that's my... little embarrassing spiel. i get too into these things, but i love starbound so much, even aside from all the character things. share all you want, goodness knows i've used up my limelight.

tl;dr i have a novakid, a floran, a glitch, and a hylotl, and i love them too much.
