Alright, I keep coming back to the gardens in the mornings after everything's reset, but it still says I've watered my plant today. This...honestly, this is annoying, and it doesn't look like it's what's meant to happen anyway - I haven't watered it today, yet it says I have. Can that be changed so that it can be rewatered the next day no matter how many hours it's been, like with Shinwa's quests or the Ruffie Raffle?

Of course my tablet breaks when I want to start making CWs.

Yes please!

The gardens need a massive revamp as is, but making it so that the plant watering resets during site reset would be a really nice start.

Staff's position on this is that gardening is supposed to be inconvenient. I think the quote on why we can't set alerts for garden applies here too.

Then we might as well just make it so that you only have to water it once, and maybe just do it for you.

The garden is based around you getting back there to water the plant. We aren&;t going to give it to you.

Oh, I didn't realise that quote applied here, too. Though to be honest I'm not sure it's quite the same thing...

Is it possible that the wording could be changed, then? For example, from: 'You've already watered your plant today, please return tomorrow to water it again.' which can cause confusion and annoys people as it has NOT been watered today, to: 'Your plant does not need more water yet, please come back in (however many) hours.' which makes perfect logical sense.

Of course my tablet breaks when I want to start making CWs.

I agree that clarifying the message would make things better for new players, that's a good idea.

I mentally tell myself to water/plant as soon as I get an alert for Ruffie Raffle, since they're both on a 24 hour cycle, as is birding in the park. Once I got in the habit of making three daily stops instead of one, it works pretty well.

I think this is quite reasonable.

lmao why is gardening supposed to be so difficult? It's not like real-life plants will refuse to be watered.

I'd definitely appreciate some kind of alert or at least a countdown. But especially an alert, because I ALWAYS come back too soon but then forget again when the time actually comes around and it's really frustrating, lmao.

Ruffie Raffle was changed, it actually resets at midnight. The alert is still broken and goes off after 24hrs however.

I really don't know why the Gardens are still based on that outdated 24hr model though. With all the "quality of life" changes happening around here I feel like this is something that should be looked into. I can kinda see why they wouldn't want to do an alert but making it reset at midnight wouldn't change how they work too much.

It does?? I had no idea! I'm still using the Ruffie Raffle alert religiously.

Huh. Well, if anyone wants to use the Ruffie Raffle alert, it works pretty well for gardening!

I am also still surprised gardening hasn't been revamped, though. I was expecting it to be redone when the Green Project happened, but nope. It does strike me as odd that every other 24 hour activity has gone to a midnight reset except for gardening. Seems slightly arbitrary.

Heck, I'm surprised it hasn't gone to "water every four hours" or something.

The gardens really need to be changed so that it resets at midnight like everything else. You water your plant once every Subeta day.

I mean, I water my real life plants based on the day of the week, not the actual time of day. Like who even goes "Ohp well it's 2:37, been exactly 24 hours since the ol' watering can". So yeah, by the day cycle makes more sense.

When I go to water my plant, I get this:

"You've already watered your plant today, please return tomorrow to water it again. You can water again in 17 hours."

So it does tell you how much time you have left?? But I agree; I think it makes more sense for it to reset at midnight like most other things.

I don't support this but I didn't like the regularization of the other 24hr things either.

It is possible to overwater a plant, and sometimes watering a plant when it's already humid will result in rot or mildew, so the time of day does matter. This isn't the only example. All y'all are used to houseplants which are tolerant of a lot of crap because inside-houses is a hard place to grow anything.

Real life plants can be every bit as delicate as Subeta plants but don't use magic to prevent you from overwatering them.

can we at least make it not say you have "You can water again in 0 hours." for a full hour? I'm pretty sure if you water it at 7:59 one day, you can water it again at 7:00 the next day. it's got a sorta wonky system as it is now. I don't get why it isn't just exactly 24 hours from when you last watered it.

Ah, the ol' slippery slope logical fallacy. "If we change the way the time works then we might as well water the seed for you too!" Uh, no? Even if the time was changed, you still have to remember to water the seed each day anyway. So...I don't see why changing it to reset every 24 hours would be such a bad thing.

I would love to have the seed watering reset for the day as well. I have a routine for doing things on here, and the garden part just doesn't fit into the rest of Subeta daily quest/game play. When I log in, I do my regular things, or special one time thing per day, but I am not always logging in at a specific time. I have lost so many seeds because I forgot to water them because I would check the garden, the seed wasn't ready to be watered, and then I forgot later, or couldn't make it to the garden screen.

I can't tell you how many plants I lose due to watering in real life, not to mention this game. It really is frustrating to be a horrible gardener for real and on a game! If they had a 24 reset I think I could water more reliably here, when I do quests for Shinwa or ruffie raffle etc.

I also would love to have the choice to plant something in the Centropolis cleanup garden project. Maybe we could have 2 spots to garden, the Veta Lake farm plot and Centropolis?
