ohi. my name's becca, i registered for subeta like an age and a half ago. i quickly dropped it and now am back with it in my mind to do some art.

i did a sketch or so in the art forum, and i am phenomenally confused. i understand how custom items work, but what about pets? pet overlays? what's up with that?

everything else like csc and art forum rules i'm pretty square on. it's just what the heck i'm making for pets and the rules on those, that's where i'm lost.

hey becca!!! welcome back a pet overlay is custom-made drawing of someone's pet, and it is placed above the original pet's image using HTML/CSS (usually the user does that i think??)

I think pet overlays are actually done by the site by paying 500 csc then you can have your pet's image replaced by a different image anywhere it would show up

Ah I see! This makes more sense. I had no clue, I imagined it was like Flight Rising, where you made a transparent png and overlaid it but this is better.

Just to further clarify, custom pet overlay (cost 500 CSC) will allow your overlay show up in every possible place (eg. the pet image in battle center will change to the overlay) for the assigned pet. And the word "custom" will be added before the color/species of the pet.

You can also use coding to replace the pet image with an overlay for free, but it will only be shown on the pet profile. You can use this code between the style tags on your pet profile: {background-image: url(OVERLAY IMAGE URL HERE); background-repeat: no-repeat; background-position: top center;}
