I, however, am not so helpful with the names ;) I've got the name Boris in my head for some reason, but I don't think that's quite right for what your rat looks like. You said you were looking for possible male names. I'd think about a more British name, like Edward, Harold, or Alfred.

Honestly, I'm not sure. You could work on thinking of things that are similarly colored.

Congrats on the new addition! Rats make great pets :) The first name that popped into my head was Benjamin, which could be shortened to Ben or Benji, depending on how formal you wanted to go. The name Morris also came to mind, although that might just be me blending the previously mentioned Boris and Milo together.

Also, have you thought about getting your new buddy a playmate? Rats are social creatures, and they really do best when kept in pairs or more.

I was going to get two originally. but right now is not the the time for two and I also talked to the breeders and they said it should be fine for now. the are social creatures but as I will be home a lot and holding him or hanging out with him a lot they said it as fine to have one. but eventually I would like a second.

Wish I could be more help! I say name it something ironic. We bought my chinchilla on a whim... named it Impulse. It's fitting.
