So I picked the female HA to draw some shoes on. So I made the shoes, but now it says the image is too big. Do I have to draw it all over again? And then another thing, the ci has to be a gif, but it messed up the lines of my CI when it save it as gif :C I couldnt find anything about it in the video...

I know I just stared today and I dont have a drawing pad or a good program to work with, but I really would like to get advice about this! Since I do like the item I drew :C

the base you draw on is 250x500, twice the size of how wearables should be uploaded. once you've saved and exported your item overlay as a png, open it in a program and resize it to 125x250. that is the image you will be uploading. also, i'm not sure what to tell you about saving the ci as a gif… i haven't had an issue with it messing up the quality.

Which program are you using for your images. Most programs have a lousy gif save I've noticed.

Ah thank you so much for the info! I will try to do that!!!

Oh thank you! Yes that might be it, it is nothing special I use, paint.net...I try to get a more advanced program but I have to get my hands on one first. I was thinking about adobe illustrator? Since this program I use now is very limited... :C

Might be useful. If worst comes to it you could always find a friend or artist and see if they can help you out by saving the image in gif for you. :D Good luck.

you probably don't want to use illustrator, as it is a vector program which works very differently from regular drawing programs such as photoshop.

if you're looking for a decent free program, i recommend fire alpaca - it has pretty much all the functionality you'll need for making CWs: layers, transparency, opacity, a brush and eraser tool. you can save images as mdp files so you can continue to edit them, and as pngs when you're ready to export.

as far as converting images to gifs, most computers should have a built in image viewing software (for example, mac has one called preview) in which you can perform basic tasks such as resizing, rotating, and converting format. if you find that doesn't work for you, there are plenty of websites that can convert images into gifs, such as this one. you might want to try a few, though, as different sites may produce better or worse quality images.

Oh great advice!!! Does it have an blur options aswell? Paint.net doesnt has it and I actually wanted to make some shading more softer but I couldnt so I had to adjust it to make it work without needing to blur :D

yes it does, but i would suggest being very sparing with blurring as subeta greatly prefers cel shading to a smudgy, painterly look.

Fyi, Illustrator is hellish to learn to use. If you can get your hands on any form of Photoshop, you'd have much better luck.

Thank you for letting me know. I am using Alpaca now, but I have so many problem with reducing the size of the item I made without it losses its quality :C Other then that, I think I am finished with my first CW item. I have done the CI without any problem.

Certainly.

That's what I was afraid of - I know with PS that you can save it for the web as a PNG and retain the transparency without loss of quality. There again, if you have the means to go for it.

Thank you so much for all the help! <3 :*

if by 'paintshop sai' you mean Paint Tool SAI, be careful about resizing and saving with it!

I personally find that this program resizes very pixelated formats. I've typically always saved a large ci (and usually overlays as well) in transparent PNG, and then moved it to Photoshop to resize accordingly. Photoshop tends to smooth the lines much more than SAI.

I do highly prefer lining/shading with SAI though!

It is very good advice and I will download photoshop aswell C: Is there a particularly photoshop that you recomand?
