First off, I'm lazy and stingy :D With that in mind, I'm looking for advice on a default T6 set that would help me beat up BQ opponents up to level 15 quickly, as I realise it's unlikely I'll get to do any serious damage against very hard opponents just yet. Oh, and by lazy I mean I usually can't be arsed to switch weapons between BQ levels, so it would be nice to get a default set that would serve against most opponents.
Here's what I have now: I also have the Gate Keeper combo and of course a whole mess of lower tier stuff.
As for scrolls, I only have 16 AP that I'm currently using for (with 3 points to spare): and
Based on the wonderful Weapons Guide, I guess a Blunderbuss and/or Lightbulb Nunchucks would be a reasonable purchase. I could also cough up the 10 mil for a Replica Minotaur Knocker, that might be useful in higher tiers too, but I think it might make more sense to splurge on books and more books to boost up the AP and then get some better scrolls... The same goes for Reborn Icewand of Doom - I'm of course aiming to steadily increase stats, so how useful will it be in T7 and beyond? What do you battle pros recommend?
seems like you've got the hang of it really. cheap weapons would indeed be the blunderbuss and the nunchucks, the reborn icewand is definitely one of the best t6 weapons, though I hear it has uses until t8 or so? I'd need someone else to confirm that. Like you said the knocker has uses beyond this tier. but definitely keep trying to raise your AP. you may want to throw in some perilous whirlpool scrolls for some freeze chances.
you should probably buy while it's in the MC for 8m. you'll use that forever as it heals 100%
hello fellow lazy person. Frost Thorn = good, Gate Keeper Collar = good. Rest meh. Can be useful but if you want a default-kill-everything set I wouldn't include them. Perfect default set for me would be 2 attackers, 1-2 bombs, 1 freezer, 1-2 healers, 1 blocker, 1 blaster.
Attackers: Frost Thorn does soo much damage but it lacks healing. That's why the Reborn Icewand of Doom is good, it heals 10% which is a lot for Tier 6. They would make a good combination but it's pricey so would you like to borrow mine? I don't have any Tier 6 pets so no real use for it. If you wanna go ahead and buy it then it's a ~22.5m investment that you'll use for Tier 6 and Tier 7. At Tier 7 you could replace the Frost Thorn with an Arrow Harpoon (super cheap for what it does) and you would be LAUGHING at how much ridiculous health you get every turn.
Bombs: Iron Fireside Lantern (10m) is a very good bomb. I guess bombs aren't essential but they're cool to have. This particular one also unlocks an opponent that you should be able to beat at Tier 8 or Tier 9. So you can use it as a bomb now and bam free opponent later. At Tier 7 there is the Item Hunters Bomb which is probably a bit better and (literally) 100x cheaper. You could use one or both together at Tier 7.
Freezer: You got the Collar already
Healers: Dr. Bob is right the Phoenix Quill is a must-have. I won't scare you with the prices of the other less effective healers.
Blocker: Two options... Shinwas Temple Shard or Rainbow Vortex. Both over 30m so I would say not essential either.
Blaster: Recycle Blaster = good. Generally use it on your first or second turn of the battle.
RE your suggestions I don't think you'll find much use out of Blunderbuss or Lightbulb Nunchucks because they both don't heal and do less damage than your Frost Thorn. Replica Minotaur Knocker is pretty good. If you don't get the Reborn Icewand of Doom then that would be my 2nd recommendation. More books and AP is always important! But for now Divine Denizhen x100000 each battle is fine.
Ooooh, this is really useful! Thank you both!
I'll definitely get the phoenix quill now. I keep forgetting it for some reason, probably because it's been available in MC only seasonally and it doesn't pop up in tier-based searches cause it's T1 :) I think I'll also add the Iron Fireside Lantern and Recycle Blaster on my shopping list. I'm still on the fence regarding the minotaur knocker, though, but leaning towards getting it. , if you're really lending, I'd love to borrow your Reborn Icewand of Doom, if only to see what I've been missing out on and to make up my mind about buying my own ;) Let me know how you want to do this.
I did some reading and now have 6 AP to spare, so I was thinking about cooking up Lucent Barrier or Soothing Current. Any thoughts?
As for mods for most weapons, I'll probably go with critical strike, natural armor and parched (baguette), unless someone has better suggestions :)
Divine denizhen heals already doesn't it? Soothing current isn't a huge upgrade and you definitely don't need both in your set
For mods, parched is not super worth it in t6, enemies don't freeze as often. Parched become necessary at t10 when you fight general error. I'd put one critical strike on each attacker and fill up the other slots with singed baguettes. I do not use natural armor, I prefer the offense.
Again, thanks a bunch for the useful tips! Divine denizhen heals 5%, soothing current 8%, so I guess I won't need them both. Especially as I hope to upgrade to Terra focujin once I reach level 5 in Secluded Shrine. Perhaps I'll go with lucent barrier, for the time being.
If you take into account the defense from divine denizhen, they may be about the same, I'm not actually sure of the comparison exactly but it probably isn't worth spending much to change.
is pretty cheap to make, provides a small freeze chance. your best bet is to just keep on reading, build up your AP. that way you can get a good variety of things equipped at once to handle different situations. it's hard to suggest only one scroll after to add to a healing scroll :p
that's what I use for scrolls, it isn't perfect but it fits most situations.
I like to have an infinite use low chance freeze scroll, a healing scroll, defense scrolls, high freeze rate scrolls (expensive), and a bomb or two.
I just realised how close to level 5 I am, so I'll just focus on getting that Terra focujin first and then see about the rest :) I'll probably ditch the torrential slam too (I just have it because it was cheap and easy to make... and I'm lazy) and get a freezer instead.
